A number of pharmacological drugs have side effects that contribute to the occurrence of atrial fibrillation, the most common type of cardiac rhythm disorders. The clinical use of antihistamines is widespread; however, information regarding their anti- and/or proarrhythmic effects is contradictory. In this work, we studied the effects and mechanisms of the potential proarrhythmic action of the first-generation antihistamine chloropyramine (Suprastin) in the atrial myocardium and pulmonary vein (PV) myocardial tissue.

When BP dropped to 19 (13; 26) mm Hg, the mechanosensitivity of passively pulsing arteries determined by the ratio of the swing range of electroimpedance oscillations of arterial segment to pulse pressure increased by 3.2 (2 ; 4) times (p<0.

They are characterized by a high mutation frequency and cause annual seasonal epidemics. The detection of antibodies that neutralize the virus is an important criterion in the assessment of population immunity and the influenza vaccine effectiveness.

The complex amplitude of the sLG beam is shaped in such a way that the radial and azimuthal numbers of eigenmodes are entangled with each other. As a result, variations in the amplitude and phase parameters of mode excitation, although dramatically changing the intensity and phase patterns, do not change the structural stability of the beam.

Material And Methods: The study included 164 participants: 44 individuals with IZ (group IZ), male and female, aged 16 to 30 years in the absence of diagnoses of mental health problems. diseases from rubrics F00-09 and F20-29 (ICD-10) and 120 healthy (control group).
Introduction: Influenza is a severe viral disease, a frequent complication of which is a secondary bacterial pneumonia. Influenza vaccines prevent secondary bacterial complications. Virus-like particles are one of the promising areas for the development of new vaccines.

We developed and implemented the intensity moments technique for measuring the HG mode spectra. We also theoretically justified and experimentally implemented a technique for measuring the topological charge of the LG beams with an arbitrary number of ring dislocations.

We developed a new alterative technique of the digital sorting of Laguerre-Gaussian beams (LG) by radial numbers resorting to algebra of the high-order intensity moments. The term "digital mode sorting" involves sorting the main mode characteristics (in the form of a mode spectrum) by the computer cells. If necessary, the spatial mode spectrum can be reproduced, for example, by means of a spatial light modulator.

Objective: The prevalence of Internet addiction (IA) is growing steadily, especially among the younger generation. The purpose of this multicenter study was to investigate the socio-demographic characteristics, clinical varieties, and profile of psychopathological symptoms of mental disorders in patients with IA.
Material And Methods: The study included 2 groups: the main group consisted of 44 people, aged 16 to 34 years, average age 22.
Surface-trapped electromagnetic waves can be localized at a boundary between a semiconductor distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) and a homogeneous dielectric medium or air. These waves enable a novel class of in-plane-emitting optical devices including edge-emitting lasers, disk microlasers or near-field fiber-coupled lasers. We show that the surface-trapped modes can be controlled by tuning the thickness of a single DBR layer.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA new technique for measuring the degenerate spectra of optical vortices and orbital angular momentum (OAM) of singular beams is theoretically studied and experimentally verified. The technique is based on measuring the intensity moments of higher orders of a beam containing vortices with both positive and negative topological charges. The appropriate choice of the vortex mode amplitudes of the combined beam forms anomalous regions in the form of resonant dips and bursts in the OAM spectrum.

The atrial action potentials (APs) and refractoriness were recorded with microelectrodes in isolated multicellular preparations of the atrial myocardium taken from the hibernating and summer active ground squirrels (HS and SAS, respectively) at 37, 27, and 17°С to estimate the AP and refractoriness durations. In both HS and SAS, hypothermia increased the duration of the AP and refractoriness period (APD and RD, respectively), and in both animal groups RD was longer than APD under hypothermia but not at 37°С.

The vortex avalanche is accompanied by a sharp change of the orbital angular momentum (OAM) so that its dependence on the holographic grating perturbations forms the OAM spectrum. We revealed that the restored vortex beam has anomalous regions of the OAM spectrum in a form of sharp dips and bursts (resonances) that occur when the integer perturbation parameter coincides with a topological charge of one of the vortex modes.

The technique is based on measuring the high-order intensity moments and analyzing the solutions of a system of linear equations. Drinking behavior was estimated in the two-bottle test, and other behavioral features were studied in the open field test, test for social interaction, and marble burying test. The low adaptive capacity of an animal, which was manifested in a shorter time spent in the center of the open field, and low consumption of ethanol when the animal first tasted it were the leading factors of the subsequent preference of alcohol under the conditions of free choice.

Our data show that easily available tasty food during adolescence probably impairs the reward system and serves as a trigger of future alcohol preference.
