Background: Tracheal stents can be placed in a narrow position in the human trachea to ensure smooth breathing. And the stent will deform during service by the influence of the physiological environment or random excitations, such as coughing.

Methods: This paper divides the vibration into periodic and random vibrations according to the different pressures.

This paper investigated the mechanical behavior of the contact between the oblique tip puncture needle and the tracheal tissue during pathological examination for the diagnosis of respiratory diseases. By analyzing the force of the oblique tip puncture needle, this paper established a theoretical model of the contact mechanics between the needle and the tracheal tissue. With the material characteristics, needle diameter and puncture angle of trachea tissue as the loading conditions, the biomechanical simulation of piercing process was carried out by using the finite element simulation method, and realistic puncture experiments on isolated porcine tracheal tissue were performed by electronic universal testing machine.

Article Synopsis
  • Access to health care in China has transformed with the shift to a socialist market economy, affecting disease control programs like schistosomiasis and creating new barriers to effective treatment.
  • Research conducted in Hunan Province revealed that while infrastructure for disease control exists, many patients lived in areas with limited access to information and specialized services, often without health insurance, leading to high medical costs.
  • The study emphasizes the importance of improving health awareness, enhancing surveillance, and addressing financial barriers to achieve schistosomiasis elimination in China, highlighting the need for further research on access issues.

This paper discusses an intersectoral health-related intervention, using cartoons and video-recording, print materials and face-to-face educational methods, to increase children's knowledge of schistosomiasis, which in turn might improve the case management of early diagnosis and treatment. The main components of the project were (i) the collaboration between the departments of public health and education and (ii) a randomized, controlled, school-based field trial conducted in the Dongting Lake region, China. Children in the experimental group (n=604) and their parents participated in the educational programme.
