The pavement base and subbase are the main load-bearing structures of asphalt pavement, and their materials need to have sufficient bearing capacity. Therefore, in the development of LSAM-50 mixtures with higher bearing capacity, after significant research and engineering practice, conventional particle size asphalt mixtures have formed their own excellent mineral gradation and have been incorporated into relevant specifications, while LSAM-50 mixtures, including mineral gradation, have not been involved in related research and engineering applications. According to the strength composition mechanism of asphalt mixtures, under the same circumstances of asphalt, due to the large nominal maximum particle size of LSAM-50 and the small amount of asphalt used, the strength of mineral grading is more important than that of asphalt, which is one of the key issues to be solved in the research of LSAM-50 mixtures.

Herein, we fabricated a low-melting-point Zr-16Ti-6Cu-8Ni-6Co eutectic filler based on a Zr-Ti-Cu-Ni filler to achieve effective joining of a Ti6Al4V (TC4) titanium alloy. The temperature at which the brittle intermetallic compound (IMC) layer in the seam completely disappeared was reduced from 920 °C to 900 °C, which broadened the temperature range of the Zr-based filler, brazing the TC4 without a brittle IMC layer. The shear strength of the Zr-16Ti-6Cu-8Ni-6Co brazed joint increased by 113% more than that of the Zr-16Ti-9Cu-11Ni brazed joint at 900 °C.

Entomopathogenic fungi offer an ecologically sustainable and highly effective alternative to chemical pesticides for managing plant pests. However, the efficacy of mycoinsecticides in pest control suffers from environmental abiotic stresses, such as solar UV radiation and temperature fluctuations, which seriously hinder their practical application in the field. Herein, we discovered that the synthetic amphiphilic thermal-responsive polymers are able to significantly enhance the resistance of conidia against thermal and UV irradiation stresses.

Optical microcavities, particularly whispering gallery mode (WGM) microcavities enhanced by plasmonic nanorods, are emerging as powerful platforms for single-molecule sensing. However, the impact of optical forces from the plasmonic near field on analyte molecules is inadequately understood. Using a standard optoplasmonic WGM single-molecule sensor to monitor two enzymes, both of which undergo an open-to-closed-to-open conformational transition, the work done on an enzyme by the WGM sensor as atoms of the enzyme move through the electric field gradient of the plasmonic hotspot during conformational change has been quantified.

Whispering-gallery-mode (WGM) resonators are powerful instruments for single-molecule sensing in biological and biochemical investigations. WGM sensors leveraged by plasmonic nanostructures, known as optoplasmonic sensors, provide sensitivity down to single atomic ions. In this article, we describe that the response of optoplasmonic sensors upon the attachment of single protein molecules strongly depends on the intensity of WGM.

Glycopolymer-supported silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have demonstrated a promising alternative to antibiotics for the treatment of multidrug-resistant bacteria-infected diseases. In this contribution, we report a class of biohybrid glycopolymersome-supported AgNPs, which are capable of effectively killing multidrug-resistant bacteria and disrupting related biofilms. First of all, glycopolymersomes with controllable structures were massively fabricated through reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization-induced self-assembly (PISA) in an aqueous solution driven by complementary hydrogen bonding interaction between the pyridine and amide groups of -(2-methylpyridine)-acrylamide (MPA) monomers.

Optical atomic clocks produce highly stable frequency standards and frequency combs bridge clock frequencies with hundreds of terahertz difference. In this paper, we propose a hybrid clock scheme, where a light source pumps an active optical clock through a microresonator-based nonlinear third harmonic process, serves as a passive optical clock via indirectly locking its frequency to an atomic transition, and drives a chip-scale microcomb whose mode spacing is stabilized using the active optical clock. The operation of the whole hybrid system is investigated through simulation analysis.

Polymer-based nanomaterials have exhibited promising alternative avenues to combat the globe challenge of multidrug-resistant bacterial infection. However, most of the reported polymeric nanomaterials have facially linear amphiphilic structures with positive net charges, which may lead to nonspecific binding, high hemolysis, and uncontrollable self-organization, limiting their practical applications. In this contribution, we report a one-dimensional glyconanorod (GNR) through self-assembly of well-defined β-cyclodextrin-based glycoconjugates (RMan) featuring hydrophobic carbon-based chains and amide rhodamines with an adenosine triphosphate (ATP)-recognition site and targeted and hydrophilic mannoses and positively net-charged ethylene amine groups.
