Background: Clinically, the ability to distinguish which Crohn's disease patients can benefit from Adalimumab is limited.

Aims: This study aimed to develop a model for predicting clinical remission probability for Crohn's disease patients with Adalimumab at 12 weeks. The model assists clinicians in identifying which Crohn's disease patients are likely to benefit from Adalimumab treatment before starting therapy, thus optimizing individualized treatment strategies.

Preliminary experience and learning curve of endoscopic nipple-areolar-complex sparing total mastectomy: A single-center retrospective study.

Background: In this study, the preliminary experience of endoscopic nipple-areolar-complex (NAC) sparing total mastectomy were analyzed and reported.

Methods: The medical records of the patients who underwent Endoscopic NAC sparing total mastectomy from November 2019 to June 2022 in a single institute were collected and analyzed. The medical records of their clinicopathologic characteristics, perioperative parameters, postoperative complications, oncologic results were collected retrospectively.

Probiotic intervention during pregnancy or lactation demonstrates promise for modulating the milk glycobiome.

Robotic thyroidectomy using gas-insufflation one-step single-port transaxillary (GOSTA) approach.

Background: We conducted this study to report our novel robotic thyroidectomy using gas-insufflation one-step single-port transaxillary (GOSTA) approach and compare it with a conventional transaxillary (CTA) approach using a retraction method for intraoperative and postoperative outcomes.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 354 patients who underwent robotic thyroidectomy between January 2019 and April 2023. Of these patients, 143 underwent the procedure through the GOSTA approach, which involves a small incision of 3 cm along the axillary folds with both arms down and a gas-insufflation, from skin flap creation to the completion of thyroidectomy as a one-step single-port procedure without the need for a retractor.

Alterations of milk oligosaccharides in mothers with gestational diabetes mellitus impede colonization of beneficial bacteria and development of RORγt Treg cell-mediated immune tolerance in neonates.

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is an increasing public health concern that significantly increases the risk of early childhood allergic diseases. Altered maternal milk glycobiome may strongly affect gut microbiota and enteric-specific Treg cell-mediated development of immune tolerance in GDM infants. In this study, we found that, compared with healthy Chinese mothers, mothers with GDM had significantly lower levels of total and specific human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) in their colostrum that subsequently increased with extension of lactation.

Serious infections and tuberculosis in psoriasis patients receiving systemic therapy in Korea: a nationwide population-based cohort study.

Background: Psoriasis itself, as well as its immunomodulatory drugs, may alter the immune system, increasing the risk of infections. Recent research has indicated that patients with psoriasis are at an increased risk of developing severe infections including tuberculosis.

Objectives: To evaluate and compare the incidence of serious infectious diseases in Korea between patients with psoriasis and participants without psoriasis regarding each treatment modality.

Comparison of robotic and laparoscopic lateral transperitoneal adrenalectomies.

Purpose: This study aimed to compare the intraoperative and postoperative outcomes between robotic and laparoscopic transperitoneal adrenalectomies.

Methods: In this retrospective study, 93 patients underwent adrenalectomy using 2 surgical modalities: 45 patients underwent adrenalectomy using the da Vinci Xi system (robotic group), and 48 patients using laparoscopic devices (laparoscopic group). We compared the operation time, intraoperative bleeding, and hospital stay according to the surgical modality and tumor characteristics.

The Relationship Between Rosacea and Inflammatory Bowel Disease: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.

Introduction: Rosacea and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are chronic inflammatory disorders of the skin and the gut, which are interfaces between the environment and the human body. Although growing evidence has implicated a possible link between rosacea and IBD, it remains unclear whether IBD increases the risk of rosacea and vice versa. Therefore, we investigated the association between rosacea and IBD in this study.

Intestinal microbial composition changes induced by GBL 16, 17 fermented feed and intestinal immune homeostasis regulation in pigs.

In this study, () byproducts with high polyphenol content were fermented with -derived lactic acid bacteria ( GBL 16 and 17). Then the effect of -derived lactic acid bacteria fermented feed (-LAB fermented feed) with probiotics (, , Yeast) as a feed additive for pigs on the composition of intestinal microbes and the regulation of intestinal immune homeostasis was investigated. Seventy-two finishing Berkshire pigs were randomly allotted to four different treatment groups and 18 replicates.

Hair loss after drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS): A multicentric retrospective case series.

Drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) is a severe cutaneous drug adverse reaction characterized by various cutaneous and systemic manifestations. However, reports on the various patterns of alopecia after DRESS are lacking. Thus, we aimed to describe cases of alopecia after DRESS and review the literature.

Background: Recently, microbiome research has been actively conducted for various skin areas. However, no study has yet compared the microbiome of bacteria and fungi in the ear canal of healthy individuals and patients with chronic otitis externa in Korea.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the difference in the distribution of fungal and bacterial microbial communities in ear canal samples of healthy individuals and patients with chronic otitis externa.

Risk of malignancy in patients with psoriasis according to treatment modalities in Korea: a nationwide cohort study.

Intrinsic immunologic disparity of psoriasis itself, along with chronic inflammation and immunomodulatory anti-psoriatic treatments could be associated with increased risk of malignancy. We aimed to estimate the risk of malignancy in patients with psoriasis by treatment modality compared with that in individuals without psoriasis in Korea. We conducted a nationwide cohort study using the claims database of the National Health Insurance Service from January 2005 to December 2018.

Effects of lactic acid bacteria fermented feed and three types of lactic acid bacteria (L. plantarum, L. acidophilus, B. animalis) on intestinal microbiota and T cell polarization (Th1, Th2, Th17, Treg) in the intestinal lymph nodes and spleens of rats.

Background: The volume of epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) is associated with an increased incidence of cardiovascular disease (CVD); however, only a few studies have examined its effect on the myocardial function of endurance in athletes. The association between the EAT and the variation of myocardial function is still unclear in amateur marathoners. Consequently, by using some sedentary individuals as the control, this study aims to evaluate the correlation between the EAT volume and the myocardial strain in the left and right ventricles of Chinese amateur marathoners by cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR).

Objective: Lung cancer is the wide and common tumor. This study was designed to explore the effect of YFXJ formula on non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell lines.

Methods: YFXJ formula (mainly composed of Astragalus membranaceus, Atractylodes macrocephala, Radix Saposhnikoviae, Radix Glehniae, coix seed, Herba Sabina chinensis, Hedyotis diffusa, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, sarcophagus martensii, Prunella vulgaris, Meretrix meretrix, and oyster) was extracted with 75% ethanol.

Early onset female pattern hair loss: A case-control study for analyzing clinical features and genetic variants.

Background: Female pattern hair loss (FPHL), the most common cause of alopecia in adult women, is classified into two subtypes: early onset and late onset (or postmenopausal). Little is known about the clinical features and genetic characteristics of early onset female pattern hair loss (eFPHL).
