Community social work in Hong Kong during COVID-19: Intervention strategies to address social injustices.

In Hong Kong, professional social workers made their presence felt when they delivered a variety of services at the height of the pandemic. Social workers who were working in community development projects or who had adopted community work approaches have become the major service providers when the availability and accessibility of other types of social services have been seriously impeded. This article reports on a qualitative research study conducted to examine (1) how community social workers have planned and implemented services, (2) their use of information and communication technologies (ICTs), and (3) ideas for addressing injustices in disaster management work.

To Resolve or Not To Resolve, that Is the Question: The Dual-Path Model of Incongruity Resolution and Absurd Verbal Humor by fMRI.

It is well accepted that the humor comprehension processing involves incongruity detection and resolution and then induces a feeling of amusement. However, this three-stage model of humor processing does not apply to absurd humor (so-called nonsense humor). Absurd humor contains an unresolvable incongruity but can still induce a feeling of mirth.

Enhancing collaborative pharmaceutical care for patients with chronic kidney disease: survey of community pharmacists.

Background: The Kidney Care Clinic at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre provides multidisciplinary care for patients with stage 4 or 5 chronic kidney disease. These patients are at high risk of drug therapy problems. Clinic pharmacists review medications and provide recommendations at each visit, but potential gaps in care exist between clinic visits.

Study of optical transmittance of AgOx nano thin film in super-resolution near-field structure.

The AgOx-type super-resolution near-field structure (super-RENS) is one of the nano thin films that can give a nonlinear optical effect similar to that of the optical probe of the scanning near-field optical microscope. Structural variations of different thicknesses of the AgOx thin film are observed and studied using a field-emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). For single AgOx nano thin film, the critical temperature and threshold of the evaporation temperature are 154 degrees and 600 degrees, respectively.
