A novel composite hydrogel (AM/CMC/B) synthesized from peanut shell biochar effectively adsorbs heavy metal Cd in water and reduces its toxicity to tobacco seedlings. The hydrogel, prepared via hydrothermal polymerization using acrylamide (AM), carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), and peanut shell biochar (B), exhibited a maximum adsorption capacity of 164.83 mg g for Cd and followed a pseudo-second-order kinetic model.

Chiral perovskites have attracted considerable attention as excellent spin-emitting materials for applications in spintronics, quantum optics, and biological. Especially in drug development of biological, weak chirality molecules are frequently selected to reduce the side effects of toxics, and there is a common defect for accurately detecting the weak chirality with common methods at room temperature. In this study, formamidine lead bromide perovskite nanocrystals (FAPbBr NCs) were coated with chiral ligands, whose chirality was too weak to be observed in the visible region at room temperature.

Plant health is the fundamental of agricultural production, which is threatened by plant pathogens severely. The previous studies exhibited the effects of different pathogen control strategies (physical, chemical, and microbial methods), which resulted from bringing in exogenous additives, on microbial community structures and functions. Nevertheless, few studies focused on the potential inhibitory abilities of native microbial community in the soil, which could be activated or enhanced by different fertilization strategies.
