Far-red lights (FRs), with a wavelength range between 700 and 800 nm, have substantial impacts on plant growth, especially horticultural crops. Previous studies showed conflicting results on the effects of FRs on vegetable growth and quality. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis on the influence of FRs on vegetable growth, aiming to provide a comprehensive overview of their effects on the growth and nutritional indicators of vegetables.

Sustaining crop production and food security are threatened by a burgeoning world population and adverse environmental conditions. Traditional breeding methods for vegetable crops are time-consuming, laborious, and untargeted, often taking several years to develop new and improved varieties. The challenges faced by a long breeding cycle need to be overcome.

The purple tomato variety 'Indigo Rose' (InR) is favored due to its bright appearance, abundant anthocyanins and outstanding antioxidant capacity. is associated with anthocyanin biosynthesis in 'Indigo Rose' plants. However, residual anthocyanins still present in seedlings and fruit peel indicated there was an anthocyanin induction pathway that is independent of HY5 in plants.

The effects of supplemental UV-A (385 nm) period and UV-A intensity for 5 days before harvest (DBH) on growth, antioxidants, antioxidant capacity, and glucosinolates contents in Chinese kale ( var. Bailey) were studied in plant factory. In the experiment of the UV-A period, three treatments were designed with 10 W·m UV-A supplement, T1(5 DBH), T2 (10 DBH), and no supplemental UV-A as control.

Article Synopsis
  • A study involving 920 patients with stable angina tested the efficacy of Danhong injection (DHI), a polypharmacological drug, over 14 days, finding that DHI significantly improved patient-reported angina frequency compared to a placebo.
  • There were no significant differences in major vascular events or serious side effects between the DHI and placebo groups, indicating DHI's safety in this population.
  • RNA sequencing identified a new therapeutic module related to blood coagulation and cholesterol metabolism as a potential target for DHI's effects, highlighting a connection between this module and positive changes in angina symptoms.

Objective: To confirm the efficacy and safety of Wufuxinnaoqing Soft Capsule (, WSC) in the treatment of chronic stable angina (blood stasis syndrome).

Methods: A multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial with superiority test was designed. A total of 240 patients with chronic stable angina (blood stasis syndrome) from multiple centers were randomly and equally assigned to the treatment group and the control group.
