[Spontaneous rupture of the spleen in a child].

Non traumatic or spontaneous splenic ruptures are rare but potentially fatal. Mortality is mainly due to delayed and therapeutic diagnosis as well as to the risks associated with a predisposed condition and with the severity of underlying pathologies. Splenectomy is necessary in the majority of cases.

[A rare cause of acute abdomen: epiploic appendagitis].

Primary epiploic appendagitis brings together torsions and primary inflammations of epiploic appendices. These pathological events are rare and, for a long period of time, have been exceptionally diagnosed in preoperative period. The progress of medical imaging allow, now, to avoid unnecessary surgical interventions.

A case of congenital lobar emphysema in the middle lobe.

Congenital lobar emphysema (CLE) is a rare cause of respiratory distress during the neonate period. It is characterized by overinflation of pulmonary lobe, most commonly the left upper lobe or the right middle lobe. We report a case of a 21-day-old baby with the severe respiratory distress.

Primary renal teratoma: a rare entity.

Unlabelled: Teratomas are neoplasms that arise from pluripotent cells and can differentiate along one or more embryonic germ lines. Renal teratoma is an exceedingly rare condition. Teratomas commonly arise in the gonads, sacrococcygeal region, pineal gland, and retroperitoneum.

A rare tumor of the lung: inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor.

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor is a rare benign lesion whose tumor origin is now proven. It represents 0.7% of all lung tumors.

Cerebral ischaemic stroke and bilateral pheochromocytoma.

We report a case of a 10-year-old girl who presented with an acute neurological deficit preceded by a 2 month history of headaches. The patient was treated for acute viral encephalitis because of the presence of inflammation. A computed tomography (CT) scan of her brain scan showed a cerebral ischaemic stroke, and paroxysmal arterial hypertension led us to suspect pheochromocytoma.
