Effect of atorvastatin gel in non-surgical treatment of peri-implant mucositis: A randomized controlled clinical trial.

Background: Peri-implant diseases, such as peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis, are inflammatory conditions caused by biofilms that can lead to the loss of surrounding soft tissues and bone. The most effective treatment involves non-surgical mechanical debridement to remove plaque, but other treatment modalities have shown limited success. This study investigated the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects of atorvastatin (ATV) gel as an additional treatment for peri-implant mucositis.

Effect of different mouthwashes on the shear bond strength and surface roughness of intraoral and heat-cured soft liners.

Background: The present study aimed to determine the effect of mouthwashes on the shear bond strength (SBS) and surface roughness (SR) of soft liners.

Materials And Methods: In this study, a total of 72 samples were prepared to evaluate the SBS ( = 36 for each liner). An autopolymerized (Mollosil Plus) and a heat-polymerized liner (Molloplast B) were injected in between two blocks of heat-processed acrylic resin (Triplex).

Effectiveness of placement of second miniplates as tension band unit in mandibular parasymphysis fractures.

Background: The ideal position of the plates and the need for additional plates are discussed continuously. In mandible, the tensile forces at the fracture line should be neutralized with a tension band. This study evaluated the role of the mandibular arch bar as a tension band eliminating the need for an upper miniplate (tension band plate) in cases of parasymphysis fractures.

Effect of denture cleansing agents on tensile and shear bond strengths of soft liners to acrylic denture base.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of Corega and 2.5% sodium hypochlorite cleansing agents on the shear and tensile bond strengths of GC soft liner to denture base. A total of 144 samples (72 samples for tensile and 72 for shear bond strength evaluations) were prepared.

Evaluation of changes in anthropometric indexes due to intermaxillary fixation following facial fractures.

One of the treatment modalities for facial fractures is closed reduction technique, but treatment with intermaxillary fixation (IMF) interferes with normal nutrition, and malnutrition can affect the patient's recovery. Anthropometric measurements such as skinfold thickness and body mass index (BMI) are universal indexes for diagnosing malnutrition. Therefore, in this study we explain how treatment with IMF changes the anthropometric indexes.
