Novichok nerve agents, such as A-230, A-232, and A-234, were classified as Schedule 1 chemicals under the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) following poisoning incidents in 2018. As a result, the production, storage, and use of these chemicals are strictly prohibited by CWC signatory nations. The identification of biomarkers indicating Novichok exposure in humans is crucial for prompt detection and response to potential incidents involving these banned chemical weapons.

This study is a post hoc analysis of the GAZAI trial data to evaluate the impact of FDG-PET/CT versus computed tomography (CT) alone on radiation target volumes for involved-site radiotherapy (IS-RT) in early-stage follicular lymphoma (FL).
Methods: All patients in the GAZAI trial underwent pretherapeutic FDG-PET/CT examinations, which were subject to central quality control.

The dynamic response of heterogeneous catalytic materials to their environment opens a wide variety of possible surface states which may have increased catalytic activity. In this work, we find that it is possible to generate a surface state with increased catalytic activity over metallic 2nm Pt nanoparticles by performing a thermal treatment of the CO*-covered Pt catalyst. This state is characterised by its ability to oxidise CO to CO2 at room temperature.

This study sought to quantify continued weight loss after abdominoplasty procedures.
Methods: A retrospective chart review was conducted on all abdominoplasty cases performed by the senior author between 2018 and 2022.
Biomarkers for anti-angiogenic drugs in chemo-refractory metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) are lacking. We investigated the relationship between stanniocalcin 1 (STC1) and outcomes in patients treated with regorafenib in the TEXCAN and CORRECT trials. Baseline plasma STC1 protein levels were measured by ELISA from patients with chemo-refractory mCRC enrolled in TEXCAN (regorafenib n=48) and CORRECT (placebo n=211; regorafenib n=435).

KRASG12C mutations are common and targetable alterations. Therapeutic inhibition of KRASG12C and eventual resistance to these inhibitors are also known to drive RS and DNA damage through adaptive mechanisms that maintain addiction to high MAPK signaling.

However, complications such as filler migration can lead to the development of the "Avatar nose," a condition where the nose appears unnaturally wide and bulbous in the nasion area, disrupting facial harmony. This phenomenon is often exacerbated by the presence of a taut nasofrontal ligament, which tethers the periosteum to the dermal layer and influences nasal contour.

This review evaluates post-marketing label changes in dosing information for FDA-approved mAbs from January 2015 to September 2024, with a focus on both initial and extended indications. We systematically analyzed dosing modifications, categorizing them into six predefined groups: Dose increases or decreases, inclusion of new patient populations by body weight or age, shifts from body weight-based dosing to fixed regimens, and adjustments in infusion rates.

Using 810 nm near-infrared (NIR) light with 300 Hz pulses and a 30% duty cycle, pwPBM was applied at a total energy density of 750 mJ/cm. Osteogenesis was evaluated through both in vitro and in vivo analyses.

A newly fabricated gold nanopillar array-based film is presented for superior photothermal energy conversion. Magnifying the metal film surface-to-volume ratio increases the photothermal energy conversion efficiency, resulting in a swift reduction in the gene amplification reaction time.

Data from 400 married Korean adults aged 30-49 were analyzed using structural equation modeling and multigroup analysis. Results revealed that all paths were significant except the direct impact of family-of-origin health on marital satisfaction.

However, continued development of innovative and controllable delivery systems for immune-stimulating agents is necessary to optimize clinical responses. Herein, we engineered to deliver recombinant granulocyte macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) in a controllable manner for combination treatment with a programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) inhibitor.

The pathophysiology of sepsis is characterized by a systemic inflammatory response to infection; however, the cytokine blockade that targets a specific early inflammatory mediator, such as tumor necrosis factor, has shown disappointing results in clinical trials. During sepsis, excessive endotoxins are internalized into the cytoplasm of immune cells, resulting in dysregulated pyroptotic cell death, which induces the leakage of late mediator alarmins such as HMGB1 and PTX3. As late mediators of lethal sepsis, overwhelming amounts of alarmins bind to high-affinity TLR4/MD2 and low-affinity RAGE receptors, thereby amplifying inflammation during early-stage sepsis.

Methods: Controlled cortical impact (CCI) was used to induce TBI in pediatric (21-25 days old) and adult (8-12 weeks old) C57Bl/6 male mice. Neuroinflammation was evaluated through immunoreactivity for Iba-1 and GFAP, while apoptosis was assessed using markers such as Bax, Bcl- 2, and pro-caspase-3.
Background: Community acquired lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI) is a leading cause for hospitalization in children and important cause for antibiotic prescription. We aimed to describe the aetiology of LRTI in children and analyse factors associated with bacterial or viral infection.
Methods: Patients aged < 19 years with a diagnosis of LRTI were identified from the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership Common Data Model Database of Seoul National University Bundang Hospital from January 2005-July 2019, and their clinical characteristics were obtained from the electronic medical records and retrospectively reviewed.

Background: Gout is a type of inflammatory arthritis caused by monosodium urate crystal deposits, and the prevalence of this condition has been increasing. This study aimed to determine the combined effects of genetic risk factors and lifestyle habits on gout, using data from a Korean cohort study. Identifying high-risk individuals in advance can help prevent gout and its associated disorders.

We detail SNUH-DBB operations, including protocols for specimen handling, induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) and cerebral organoids establishment from postmortem dural fibroblasts, and adult neural progenitor cell cultures. We assessed clinical-neuropathological diagnostic concordance rate.

This retrospective observational study aimed to describe treatment patterns following the introduction of IO, estimate real-world treatment effects of IO compared to standard of care, and evaluate the impact of introduction of IO on a real-world population, based on a large dataset of over 10 000 patients with several years of follow-up.
Methods: Data from routine care of lung cancer patients were extracted from Flatiron Health including those who received either IO or platinum-based doublet chemotherapy (PBDC) in the first line (1L), or either IO or chemotherapy (CT) in the second line (2L).
Seawater batteries (SWBs) have emerged as a next-generation battery technology that does not rely on lithium, a limited resource essential for lithium-ion batteries. Instead, SWBs utilize abundant sodium from seawater, offering a sustainable alternative to conventional battery technologies. Previous studies have demonstrated the feasibility of achieving high energy densities in SWB anodes using vertically aligned electrodes.
