Cyclin-dependent kinase 4 and 6 (CDK4/6) inhibitors, including abemaciclib, have been approved for the treatment of hormone receptor-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative advanced, and metastatic breast cancer. Despite the high therapeutic efficacy of CDK4/6 inhibitors, they are associated with various adverse effects, including potentially fatal interstitial lung disease. Therefore, a combination of CDK4/6 inhibitors with letrozole or fulvestrant has been attempted but has demonstrated limitations in reducing adverse effects, highlighting the need to develop new combination therapies.

The Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a psychotherapy that combines tapping on acupoints with exposure to cognitive reframing. This pilot study aimed to assess the feasibility of EFT as a treatment for PTSD by answering the following research questions 1) What is the compliance and completion rate of patients with PTSD with regard to EFT protocol? Is the dropout rate reasonable? 2) Is the effect size of EFT protocol for PTSD sufficient to justify a future trial?
Methods: Thirty participants diagnosed with PTSD were recruited.
Purpose: Pharmacopuncture therapy (PPT) combines medicinal extracts with acupuncture and is widely used as an adjunct in clinical practice. This study assessed the safety and feasibility of PPT in addition to conventional Korean Medicine treatment (CKMT), including electroacupuncture, cupping and infra-red, for lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS).
Patients And Methods: Forty patients diagnosed with LSS were randomly assigned to undergo PPT with CKMT (experimental group) or CKMT alone (control group) at a 1:1 ratio, receiving 10 sessions of each intervention over five weeks.
Background: : Pharmacopuncture therapy and acupotomy are commonly used in combination for Conventional Korean Medicine Treatments (CKMT) for the treatment of patients with lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS). The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect and safety of combining pharmacopuncture therapy and acupotomy in the treatment of LSS.
Methods: : This study is designed as a pragmatic, assessor-blinded, randomized controlled trial with two parallel arms in a 1:1 ratio.

Introduction: This study investigated the role of renal-intestinal crosstalk in the transition from acute kidney injury (AKI) to chronic kidney disease (CKD) in elderly individuals.
Methods: Using young and aged mice, we induced bilateral ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) and compared intestinal and kidney inflammation over 28 days. To determine the role of the microbiome in gut-kidney crosstalk, we analyzed the microbiome of fecal samples of the young vs.
Upper airway cough syndrome (UACS) is a common cause of chronic cough characterized by upper airway symptoms, including nasal discharge and throat discomfort. Empirical treatments for UASC-induced chronic cough, such as first-generation antihistamines, have been used; however, the long-term use of these medicines has adverse effects. Therefore, we evaluate the efficacy, safety, and economic feasibility of Wolbigachul-tang (WBGCT), an herbal medication for UASC-induced chronic cough.

Materials And Methods: Computed tomography (CT) data from breast cancer patients were used to create a 3D-printed breast phantom. Various types of treatment plans were generated using CT images acquired at the exhalation phase.
Leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein 1 (LRG1) mediates skin repair and fibrosis by stimulating the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) signaling pathway. In the present study, we investigated the effect of LRG1 on extracellular matrix (ECM) integrity in fibroblasts, as well as on skin aging. The treatment of dermal fibroblasts with purified recombinant human LRG1 increased type I collagen secretion and decreased matrix metalloproteinase-1 secretion.

Pharmacopuncture has been widely used to treat LBP in Korea; however, randomized clinical trials (RCT) or active control have not been conducted to evaluate its effectiveness. Therefore, this RCT aimed to compare the effectiveness of pharmacopuncture and physical therapy (PT) for the treatment of chronic LBP.

EFT has been previously shown to have potential for treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). However, further clinical evidence and underlying mechanisms of EFT are yet to be fully explored.

We aimed to determine the relationship between sleep duration and high-frequency hearing loss in Korean adults aged ≥40 years.
Methods: We examined 5,547 Korean adults aged ≥40 years who completed audiometric tests and questionnaires regarding sleep duration during the 2010-2012 cycle of the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey.
Background: Recently, Korean Medicine treatment with pharmacopuncture therapy (PPT) has been increasingly used in clinical practice to improve symptoms in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS). The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of PPT in addition to conventional Korean Medicine treatment (CKMT) for the treatment of patients with LSS, compared with CKMT alone.
Methods: This study is designed as a pragmatic, randomized, two-armed, parallel, stratified (by sex), controlled pilot trial.
This study was conducted using data from the Korea Medical Panel Survey (KMPS) carried out in 2015. Importantly, the purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between Korean medicine (KM) and Western medicine (WM) in medical service use. The general characteristics and the frequency of utilization of medical services were analyzed for 18,130 participants.

Electroacupuncture (EA) and moxibustion therapy have been suggested as an adjunct therapy for improving LUTS in patients with BPH, but clinical studies evaluating the effectiveness of EA and its cotreatment with electronic moxibustion (EM) in patients who have been prescribed alpha blockers have yet to be reported. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of EA and EM.

This pragmatic randomized clinical trial aims to investigate the effects of pharmacopuncture on chronic LBP by comparing the effectiveness of pharmacopuncture and physiotherapy strategies.
Patients And Methods: In this two-armed, parallel, multi-center randomized controlled study, the participants will randomly undergo 10 sessions of pharmacopuncture therapy or physiotherapy over five weeks based on the randomization outcomes.
Programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) is a major target to cancer immunotherapy, and anti-PD-L1 and anti-PD-1 antibody-mediated immunotherapy are being increasingly used. However, immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are ineffective in treating large tumors and cause various immune-related adverse events in nontarget organs, including life-threatening cardiotoxicity. Therefore, the development of new therapeutic strategies to overcome these limitations is crucial.

However, resistance to TKIs continues to increase owing to additional mutations in more than half of the patients receiving EGFR TKI therapy. In addition to targeting new mutations with next-generation therapeutics, it is necessary to find an alternative target to overcome the challenges associated with resistance.

Breast cancer is the most common female cancer in the world. Despite the active research on metastatic breast cancer, the treatment of breast cancer patients is still difficult because the mechanism is not well known. Therefore, research on new targets and mechanisms for diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer patients is required.
