The quantum effect on the Wigner time-delay and distribution for the polarization scattering in a semiclassical dense plasma is explored. The partial wave analysis is applied for a partially ionized dense plasma to derive the phase shift for the polarization interaction. The Wigner time-delay and the Wigner distribution are derived for the electron-atom polarization interaction including the effects of quantum-mechanical characteristic and plasma screening.

The influence of shielding on the Shannon information entropy for atomic states in strong coupled plasma is investigated using the perturbation method and the Ritz variational method. The analytic expressions for the Shannon information entropies of the ground (1) and the first excited states (2) are derived as functions of the ion-sphere radius including the radial and angular parts. It is shown that the entropy change in the atomic state is found to be more significant in the excite state than in the ground state.

The nonthermal diffusion effects on the dispersion equations of ion-acoustic space-charge wave (SCW) in a nonthermal plasma column composed of nonthermal turbulent electrons and cold ions are investigated based on the analysis of normal modes and the separation of variables. It is found that the real portion of the wave frequency of the SCW in a Maxwellian plasma is greater than that in a nonthermal plasma. It is also found that the magnitude of the damping rate of the SCW decreases with an increase of the spectral index of the nonthermal plasma.

The collective nonideal effects on the nuclear fusion reaction process are investigated in partially ionized classical nonideal hydrogen plasmas. The effective pseudopotential model taking into account the collective and plasma shielding effects is applied to describe the interaction potential in nonideal plasmas. The analytic expressions of the Sommerfeld parameter, the fusion penetration factor, and the cross section for the nuclear fusion reaction in nonideal plasmas are obtained as functions of the nonideality parameter, Debye length, and relative kinetic energy.

Dual-frequency modes of the dust acoustic surface waves propagating at the interface between a nonmagnetized multicomponent Lorentzian dusty plasma and a vacuum are investigated, including nonthermal and positron effects. The dispersion relation is kinetically derived by employing the specular reflection boundary condition and the dielectric permittivity for dusty plasma containing positrons. We found that there exist two modes of the dust acoustic surface wave; high- and low-frequency modes.

The influence of the quantum dynamic shielding on the polarization momentum transport collision is investigated by using the Faxen-Holtzmark theory in strongly coupled Coulomb systems. The electron-atom polarization momentum transport cross section is derived as a function of the collision energy, de Broglie wavelength, Debye length, thermal energy, and atomic quantum states. It is found that the dynamic shielding enhances the scattering phase shift as well as the polarization momentum transport cross section.

The influence of the nonthermal shielding on the formation of the negative hydrogen ion (H(-)) by the polarization electron capture are investigated in partially ionized generalized Lorentzian plasmas. The Bohr-Lindhard method has been applied to obtain the negative hydrogen formation radius and cross section as functions of the collision energy, de Broglie wave length, Debye length, impact parameter, and spectral index of the plasma. The result shows that the nonthermal character of the plasma enhances the formation radius of the negative hydrogen, especially, for small Debye radii.

Photoresist lithography has been applied to the fabrication of micro/nano devices, such as microfluidic structures, quantum dots, and photonic devices, in MEMS (micro-electro mechanical systems) and NEMS (nano-electro-mechanical systems). In particular, nano devices can be expected to present different physical phenomena due to their three-dimensional (3D) structure. The flexible 3D micro/nano fabrication technique and its process simulation have become among the major topics needed to understand nano-mechanical phenomena.

Elastic collisions between two dressed grains charged with the same sign in dusty plasmas are investigated using the first- and second-order eikonal method. An interaction potential model taking into account the cross terms of shield effects is applied to describe the interaction potential between dressed dust grains in dusty plasmas. The impact parameter method is applied to investigate the variation of the eikonal phase and elastic cross section as functions of dust charge, Debye length, and collision energy.
