In recent years, deep correlation filters have demonstrated outstanding performance in robust object tracking. Nevertheless, the correlation filters encounter challenges in managing huge occlusion, target deviation, and background clutter due to the lack of effective utilization of previous target information. To overcome these issues, we propose a novel temporal regularized spatial-aware deep correlation filter tracking via adaptive channel selection.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the association between the genetic burden of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and the loss of tolerance to self-nuclear antigens in the preclinical stage.

Methods: We analysed genetic data from 349 Korean individuals who tested positive for autoantibodies in the preclinical stage, along with 33,596 healthy controls and 2057 patients with SLE. Genome-wide and pathway-specific polygenic risk scores (PRSs) of SLE were calculated based on 180 known non-human leukocyte antigen (non-HLA) SLE loci, HLA-DRB1 classical alleles, and predefined immune-related pathways to subsequently correlate with clinical phenotypes, particularly the presence of antinuclear antibodies (ANAs) at various titre thresholds.

Article Synopsis
  • Smoking cessation is crucial for reducing cardiovascular disease and mortality in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), but most guidelines are based on general population studies, not specifically CKD patients.
  • An analysis of over 66,000 CKD participants found that both former and current smokers had significantly higher risks of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and mortality, with risk increasing based on smoking history and decreasing with longer cessation periods.
  • Former smokers with CKD need longer cessation periods (at least 20 years) to diminish risks to levels comparable to never smokers, highlighting the necessity for targeted smoking cessation strategies in this population.

Time-in-target range (TTR) of systolic blood pressure (SBP) is determined by the proportion of time during which SBP remains within a defined optimal range. TTR has emerged as a useful metric for assessing SBP control over time. However, it is uncertain if SBP-TTR can predict the progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD).

In this study, an improved virtual space vector (VSV)-based two-stage model predictive control (MPC) scheme is presented for neutral point clamped (NPC) converters in high power-rated permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG)-based wind energy conversion system applications. The presented MPC scheme utilizes the VSVs and involves two-stage prediction for effectively reducing computation complexity. In stage-I prediction, a virtual space vector is identified based on the optimum cost function.

Schools and neighborhoods are adolescents' primary environments, and each has a significant influence on their academic success. The majority of studies on educational attainment have examined the impact of a single context-either the school or the neighborhood-suggesting mixed findings on school and neighborhood effects as well as potential disparities across racial groups. To address this gap, the present study examined the roles of school quality and neighborhood disadvantage on educational attainment for White and Black adolescents.

The main objective of this study is to improve the convergence rate performance and analyze the stability properties of the FOPMSM model considering the load-torque external disturbances and actuator faults. Due to the complex nonlinearity, the presented FONPMSM model in the d-q frame is approximated by an IT-2 T-S fuzzy modeling technique. Besides, the fuzzy memory-based FTC is designed to eliminate the typical characteristics of chaotic behaviors and stabilize the proposed nonlinear model even if load torque disturbances, actuator faults in the controller, and time delays occur.

The presented work is concerned with the stability performance of frequency response for interconnected power systems (IPSs) with permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG)-based wind turbines (WTs) via a decentralized control scheme against external and stochastic disturbances. To do this, initially, the state-space model is derived when a PMSG is penetration into IPSs. Differing from existing works, IPSs with PMSG-based WTs, including the stochastic disturbance, are modeled as a stochastic state-space model.
