Wnt signaling is essential for cell growth and tumor formation and is abnormally activated in colorectal cancer (CRC), contributing to tumor progression; however, the specific role and regulatory mechanisms involved in tumor development remain unclear. Here, we show that Ephexin1, a guanine nucleotide exchange factor, is significantly overexpressed in CRC and is correlated with increased Wnt/β-catenin pathway activity. Through comprehensive analysis, including RNA sequencing data from TCGA and functional assays, we observed that Ephexin1 promotes tumor proliferation and migration by activating the Wnt/β-catenin pathway.

The technique was tested on three species: , , and , which showed long-term viability and recovery rates superior to those when treated with a traditional cryoprotectant only. While DMSO alone enabled high cell recovery rates for all species after 1 week of cryopreservation, the rates for some of them dropped below 50% after 26 weeks of cryopreservation.

We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ultrasound (US)-guided thrombin injection (TI) for thyroid pseudoaneurysms.

However, the disposal of microalgal byproducts from the manufacturing process causes additional environmental pollution, thus, a new application strategy is required. In this study, the Tetraselmis suecica byproduct from the carotenoid extraction process was carbonized and converted into biochar.

Methods: This retrospective study collected 3D T1-weighted data using 3T from 42 participants for the simulated acceleration dataset and 48 for the validation dataset.
Garnet-type LiLaZrO (LLZO) Li-ion solid electrolytes are promising candidates for safe, next-generation solid-state batteries. In this study, we synthesize Ga-doped LLZO (Ga-LLZO) electrolytes using a microwave-assisted solvothermal method followed by low-temperature heat treatment. The nanostructured precursor (<50 nm) produced by the microwave-assisted solvothermal process has a high surface energy, facilitating the reaction for preparing garnet-type Ga-LLZO powders (<800 nm) within a short time (<5 h) at a low calcination temperature (<700 °C).

Recently, we developed the AI-based preoperative virtual reduction model for orthopedic trauma, which can provide an automatic segmentation and reduction of fractured fragments. The purpose of this study was to validate a quality of reduction model of Neer 3- or 4-part proximal humerus fractures established by AI-based technology.

Methods: A single-blind randomized controlled trial was conducted with 67 patients between April and December 2023. Patients undergoing ASRCR who received ISBPB anesthesia, rather than general anesthesia, with a minimum follow-up period of 48 hours were included.
Neuropathic pain (NP) results from lesions or diseases affecting the peripheral or central somatosensory system. However, there are currently no drugs that are particularly effective in treating this condition. SKI306X is a blend of purified extracts of three oriental herbs (Clematis mandshurica, Trichosanthes kirilowii, and Prunella vulgaris) commonly used to treat osteoarthritis for their chondroprotective effects.

This article describes the development and implementation strategy for Cancer Clinical Library Databases (CCLDs), which are standardized cancer-specific databases established under the Korea-Clinical Data Utilization Network for Research Excellence (K-CURE) project by the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare. Fifteen leading hospitals and fourteen academic associations in Korea are engaged in constructing CCLDs for 10 primary cancer types.

The expression levels of CBP and MeCP2 in the spinal cord and dorsal root ganglion (DRG) were compared through immunohistochemistry at 7 and 14 days after surgery.

While regional and single-site studies show that this group has higher rates of healthcare utilization compared to older adults in the general community, little is known about healthcare utilization nationally nor associated risk factors.

Unflavored (UTL) and flavored (FTLP) thickened liquids were prepared using tap water or pomegranate juice at 10 different viscosity levels. The rheological properties were then evaluated via syringe flow test and line spread test (LST).

An increasing number of sports-related fractures (SRFs) in individuals 65 and older are thus anticipated. Despite the increase in SRFs among the geriatric population, there are limited studies regarding the epidemiological data regarding SRFs in geriatric patients.

Despite the exceptional performance and scalability of porous polymer coating (PPC), achieving consistent performance over a wide range of drying environments remains a major challenge for its commercialization as a radiative cooling paint. Herein, we demonstrate the humidity vulnerability of PPC during the drying process and propose a simple strategy to greatly mitigate the issue.

The CPLD links data from four major population-based public sources: the Korea National Cancer Incidence Database in the Korea Central Cancer Registry, cause-of-death data in Statistics Korea, the National Health Information Database in the National Health Insurance Service, and the National Health Insurance Research Database in the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service. These databases are linked using an encrypted resident registration number.

Numerous cell-based cardiac in vitro models have been proposed as complementary approaches to non-clinical animal research. However, most of these approaches struggle to accurately replicate adult human heart conditions, such as myocardial infarction and ventricular remodeling pathology.

However, the mechanistic consequences of ISGylation in cancer have not been fully elucidated, largely due to a lack of knowledge on the ISG15 target repertoire. Here, we identified SIRT1, a nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD)-dependent protein deacetylase, as a new target for ISGylation.
