Background: Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) has become increasingly common in recent years, as studies have shown that it can be an effective treatment for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) caused by large vessel occlusion (LVO). However, the efficacy of MT in the extended time window (6 to 24 h) is still uncertain. Our study aims to evaluate the outcomes of MT in the extended time window for AIS patients.

Spinal intradural arachnoid cyst as a complication of insertion of an interspinous device.

Spinal intradural arachnoid cysts (SACs) account for approximately 10% of total arachnoid cysts, and iatrogenic attribution is rare. A 50-year-old male presented with low back pain and severe radiating pain in his right leg along the S1 dermatome. He had an interspinous device (ISD) inserted 10 years earlier.

Objective: Although metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma to the brain is uncommon, it is associated with a very high mortality rate and most patients usually expire within 1 year after brain metastasis. The aim of this study is to identify the effectiveness of the active interventions such as gamma knife radiosurgery or surgical intervention for these patients.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records and imaging data of 59 patients with metastatic brain tumors from hepatocellular carcinoma from May 2004 to September 2012.
