Idiopathic granulomatous mastitis (IGM) is a rare inflammatory disease of the breast. Various clinical management approaches have been described, but their efficacy and optimal sequential order remain uncertain. We describe the first Canadian cohort of patients with IGM, discuss treatment outcomes and outline a practical management approach.

Herpes Simplex Virus Hepatitis in Patients Requiring Intensive Care Unit Admission: A Retrospective, Multicenter, Observational Study.

The clinical features and short-term prognosis of patients admitted to the intensive care unit for herpes hepatitis are lacking. Of 33 patients admitted between 2006 and 2022, 22 were immunocompromised, 4 were pregnant women, and 23 died. Sixteen patients developed a hemophagocytic syndrome.

Purpose Of Review: Given the increased number of cancer patients admitted in the ICU and the growing importance of immunotherapy in their therapeutic arsenal, intensivists will be increasingly confronted to patients treated with immunotherapies who will present with complications, infectious and immunologic.

Recent Findings: Apart from their specific immunologic toxicities, cancer immunotherapy recipients also have specific immune dysfunction and face increased infectious risks that may lead to intensive care unit admission.

Premaxillary Setback With Posterior Vomerine Ostectomy and Complete Bilateral Cleft Lip Repair: Report of a Case With Challenging Anatomy.

Congenital clefts of the lip and/or palate are among the most common craniofacial malformations. Patients with bilateral cleft of the lip often present with projected premaxilla. Premaxillary setback with a vomerine ostectomy posterior to the vomero-premaxillary suture, bilateral cleft lip repair, bilateral gingivoperiosteoplasties, and primary cleft lip rhinoplasty are achieved in a single-stage surgery that provides a valuable alternative to patients, especially in the outreach settings.

Background: The 21-gene Breast Recurrence Score (RS) assay, "the assay", has led to a paradigm shift for patients with hormone receptor-positive, node-negative early breast cancer and is emerging as an important tool to assist physician-patient decisions in foregoing chemotherapy in node-positive patients. In-hospital cardiac arrests admitted alive in intensive care units: Insights from the CubRéa database.

Background: In-hospital cardiac arrest(IHCA) has received little attention compared with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

Aim: To address the paucity of data on IHCA patients, we examined key features, variations in mortality and predictors of death among patients admitted in French intensive care units(ICUs) from 1997 to 2015.

Methods: Using the database of the Collège des Utilisateurs de Bases de données en Réanimation(CUB-Réa) that prospectively collects data from ICUs in the greater Paris area, we determined temporal trends in the incidence of IHCA, patients' outcomes, crude and Simplified Acute Physiology Score(SAPS)-II Standardized mortality and predictors of in-ICU mortality.
