- The study aimed to investigate how COS can protect the gastric mucosa from damage caused by N-Methyl-N´-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine (MNNG) using both animal models and cell cultures.
- Results indicated that COS enhances protective protein levels, reduces signs of DNA damage and cell death, and works by increasing the expression of the protein Nrf2, which is important for combating oxidative stress.
