Utilizing data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China and ChinaCropPhen1km, this paper developed PVOC emission inventories with a resolution of 1 km for the main crops (rice, maize, and wheat) from 2012 to 2019 in China. The results revealed that pesticide application is an important VOC emission source in China.

Urbanization and industrial development have resulted in increased air pollution, which is concerning for public health. This study evaluates the effect of meteorological factors and air pollution on hospital visits for respiratory diseases (pneumonia, acute upper respiratory infections, and chronic lower respiratory diseases). The test dataset comprises meteorological parameters, air pollutant concentrations, and outpatient hospital visits for respiratory diseases in Linyi, China, from January 1, 2016 to August 20, 2022.

Theoretical investigation of the magnetic and optical properties in a transition metal-doped GaTeCl monolayer.

We investigate the structural, magnetic, electronic and optical properties of a transition metal-doped GaTeCl monolayer, denoted as M@GaTeCl (M = V, Cr, Mn, Fe and Co), by using first-principles calculations. It is found that the magnetic ground state can be regulated by different M elements. In the meantime, the electronic structure is different with the doping of different M metal atoms, and thus the optical absorption changes correspondingly.

Several factors affect the quality of beef. In the field of chemometrics, multi-block data analysis methods are useful for examining multiple sources of information from a sample. This study focuses on the application of ComDim, a multi-block data analysis method, to evaluate beef from different parts of hyperspectral spectrum and image texture information, H NMR fingerprints, quality parameters and electronic nose.

Sulfhydryl functionalized FeO@SiO@Ag-SH magnetic SERS substrates were prepared to obtain the SERS spectra of four BMZs for chemometric analysis. The partial least squares regression discrimination analysis (PLS-DA) model performed best, with a recall rate upwards 99.

Background: Sucrose phosphate synthase B (SPSB) gene encoding an important rate-limiting enzyme for sucrose synthesis in sugarcane is mainly expressed on leaves, where its alleles control sucrose synthesis. In this study, genetic variation of SPSB gene represented by different haplotypes in sugarcane was investigated in hybrid clones with high and low sugar content and various accessory species.

Results: A total of 39 haplotypes of SPSB gene with 2, 824 bp in size were identified from 18 sugarcane accessions.

Air quality improvement through vehicle electrification in Hainan province, China.

To improve the ecological environment, provinces in China have set ambitious goals for the electrification of fossil-fuel-powered vehicles (FVs) and the promotion of electric vehicles (EVs). Hainan is the first province to propose a clean energy target that schedules the banning of new FVs sales from 2030. Therefore, Hainan is a good case study to illustrate how this policy might improve regional air quality over the coming years.

Risk factors for pulmonary infection in elderly patients with acute stroke: A meta-analysis.

Objective: The study aims to systematically evaluate the risk factors of pulmonary infection in elderly patients with acute stroke.

Methods: PubMed, CENTRAL, CINAHL, Web of Science, Embase, and four Chinese databases (CNKI, SinoMed, VIP, and Wanfang databases) for studies involving risk factors of pulmonary infection in elderly patients with acute stroke were searched. Then, two researchers independently read the article titles and abstracts to screen the literature, extracted relevant research data, and evaluated the methodological quality.
