Glioblastoma is a highly aggressive primary brain tumor with glioblastoma stem cells (GSCs) enforcing the intra-tumoral hierarchy. Plasma cells (PCs) are critical effectors of the B-lineage immune system, but their roles in glioblastoma remain largely unexplored. Here, we leverage single-cell RNA and B cell receptor sequencing of tumor-infiltrating B-lineage cells and reveal that PCs are aberrantly enriched in the glioblastoma-infiltrating B-lineage population, experience low level of somatic hypermutation, and are associated with poor prognosis.

We have proposed and implemented what we believe to be a novel metric for providing a more effective similarity evaluation to the deep learning algorithms used for the inverse design of resonant photonic devices. The conventional loss functions, such as mean square error (MSE) and mean absolute error (MAE), are incapable of recognizing the characteristics of resonances accurately. Therefore, we have calculated the time domain complex vectors through the Fourier transform (FT) of the original desired spectra, and the complex results containing amplitude and phase could distinguish the resonances more significantly.

Converging studies showed interstitial fluid (ISF) adjacent to blood vessels flows in adventitia along vasculature into heart and lungs. We aim to reveal circulatory pathways and regulatory mechanism of such adventitial ISF flow in rat model. By MRI, real-time fluorescent imaging, micro-CT, and histological analysis, ISF was found to flow in adventitial matrix surrounded by fascia and along systemic vessels into heart, then flow into lungs via pulmonary arteries and back to heart via pulmonary veins, which was neither perivascular tissues nor blood or lymphatic vessels.

In order to improve the multiple-missile cooperative attack capability and penetration capability, this paper investigates two three-dimensional impact-angle-constrained cooperative guidance strategies against maneuvering target for controllable thrust missiles. First, a three-dimensional nonlinear guidance model is established that does not assume small missile lead angles in the guidance process. Second, in the line-of-sight (LOS) direction of the cluster cooperative guidance strategy, the proposed guidance algorithm transforms the simultaneous attack problem into a second-order multiagent consensus problem, which effectively solves the practical problem of low guidance precision provoked by the time-to-go estimation.

The spin angular momentums of surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) on chiral material interfaces and the Imbert-Fedorov shifts of linearly polarized light beams are investigated. Compared to a traditional TM-polarized SPP having a transverse spin, the SPP on a chiral material interface also has a longitudinal spin component, resulting from the nature that this new kind of SPP is a hybrid of TE and TM-polarized evanescent waves. When a light beam is incident on a sandwich structure composed of chiral material, prisms, and metal layers, in which the SPP is supported, the reflection and transmission processes can be analogous to the transport of a photon in a waveguide QED system.

Quantitative thoracic dynamic magnetic resonance imaging (QdMRI), a recently developed technique, provides a potential solution for evaluating treatment effects in thoracic insufficiency syndrome (TIS). In this paper, we integrate all related algorithms and modules during our work from the past 10 years on TIS into one system, named QdMRI, to address the following questions: (1) How to effectively acquire dynamic images? For many TIS patients, subjects are unable to cooperate with breathing instructions during image acquisition. Image acquisition can only be implemented under free-breathing conditions, and it is not feasible to use a surrogate device for tracing breathing signals.

The current study aimed to investigate the predictive value of visual-evoked potential (VEP) latency for post-operative visual deterioration in patients undergoing craniopharyngioma resection via extended endoscopic endonasal approach (EEEA). Data from 90 patients who underwent craniopharyngioma resection EEEA with intraoperative VEP monitoring were retrospectively reviewed. P100 latency was compared between patients with and without post-operative visual deterioration, and the threshold value of P100 latency for predicting post-operative visual deterioration was calculated by the receiver operating characteristic curve analysis.
