Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) has evolved significantly over fifty years into a powerful analytical technique. This review aims to achieve five main goals. (1) Providing a comprehensive history of SERS's discovery, its experimental and theoretical foundations, its connections to advances in nanoscience and plasmonics, and highlighting collective contributions of key pioneers.

Here, we investigated the physiological characteristics under moderate and low-nitrogen stress conditions in two cultivars (NG46 and NG9108) and two cultivars (LYP9 and 9311).

We examined the relationship between immunostimulatory repeat expression, tumor evolution, and the tumor-immune microenvironment. Integration of multimodal data from a cohort of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) patients revealed expression of specific Alu repeats predicted to form double-stranded RNAs (dsRNAs) and trigger retinoic-acid-inducible gene I (RIG-I)-like-receptor (RLR)-associated type-I interferon (IFN) signaling.

Compared to existing standard fuel technologies, ATF technology can provide the same or better performance during normal operation, transient conditions, and accident scenarios of nuclear power plants, enhancing the ability of fuel elements to withstand severe accidents while reducing the cost of generating electricity over the licensed life of the plants. This paper introduces the definition, characteristics and thermal-hydraulic research objectives of ATF technology, systematically reviews the thermal-hydraulic research results of different ATF technologies in various aspects from the perspectives of near-term concepts (UO-based composite fuels, coated Zr-based claddings, FeCrAl claddings) and long-term concepts (high-uranium-density UN fuels, FCM fuels, extruded metal fuels, SiC/SiC claddings), respectively.

The degree of HLA compatibility between donor and recipient is crucial in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Therefore, we present a case of false homozygosity in HLA genotyping due to LOH on chromosome 6p in a patient diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

Herein, this work proposes a SERS substrate for the quantitative analysis of pesticide residues on food surfaces. Au cores are assembled on PS microspheres, followed by the modification of Raman internal standards (1,4-BDT) on the gold core surface and the growth of the Au shell.

Methods: Patients who underwent surgery for inferior RRD at a tertiary care center between 2014 and 2018 were included. Inferior RRD was defined as RD with tears between 4:00 and 8:00 clock hours in a detached retina.
Protease-activated receptors (PARs) are a unique group within the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily, orchestrating cellular responses to extracellular proteases via enzymatic cleavage, which triggers intracellular signaling pathways. Protease-activated receptor 1 (PAR1) is a key member of this family and is recognized as a critical pharmacological target for managing thrombotic disorders. In this study, we present cryo-electron microscopy structures of PAR1 in its activated state, induced by its natural tethered agonist (TA), in complex with two distinct downstream proteins, the G and G heterotrimers, respectively.

However, a comprehensive understanding of the charging mechanism and ion arrangement at the graphene/electrolyte interface remain elusive. Herein, a gap-enhanced Raman spectroscopic strategy is designed to characterize the dynamic interfacial process of graphene with an adjustable number of layers, which is based on synergistic enhancement of localized surface plasmons from shell-isolated nanoparticles and a metal substrate.

Addressing environmental preservation and the comprehensive utilization of metal resources necessitates the extraction and separation of V(V) and Cr(VI) from these mixed solutions. However, their separation is complicated by very similar physicochemical properties.

Design: Systematic review and diagnostic accuracy meta-analysis.
Methods: MEDLINE and EMBASE were queried using medical subject headings terms.
Background: Even amid the coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) pandemic, the spread of multidrug-resistant bacteria and infection control are still important tasks. After recognizing the carbapenem-resistant (CRAB) outbreak that occurred in the isolation room for COVID-19, we would like to introduce what infection control measures were implemented to eradicate it.
Materials And Methods: All COVID-19 patients with CRAB in any specimen admitted to the COVID-19 isolation ward of the tertiary hospital in Korea from October to November 2021 were analyzed.

Background: Depression is common amongst older people residing in long-term care (LTC) facilities. Currently, most residents treated for depression are prescribed antidepressant medications, despite the potential availability of psychological therapies that are suitable for older people and a preference amongst many older people for non-pharmacological treatment approaches.
Objectives: To assess the effect of psychological therapies for depression in older people living in LTC settings, in comparison with treatment as usual, waiting list control, and non-specific attentional control; and to compare the effectiveness of different types of psychological therapies in this setting.
Understanding the local adaptation of crops has long been a concern of evolutionary biologists and molecular ecologists. Identifying the adaptive genetic variability in the genome is crucial not only to provide insights into the genetic mechanism of local adaptation but also to explore the adaptation potential of crops. This study aimed to identify the climatic drivers of naked barley landraces and putative adaptive loci driving local adaptation on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau (QTP).

Herein, we report a highly efficient strategy for conducting C4-selective (hetero) arylation of pyridines using -aminopyridinium salts. The reaction proceeds readily at room temperature in the presence of a base, thus eliminating the requirement for catalysts or oxidants.

This paper presents a highly effective and efficient electrode passivation method using a facile solution-processed self-assembled multilayer (SAML) with excellent insulation property to achieve operational stability and reproducibility of electrolyte-gated transistor (EGT) biosensors. The SAML is created by the consecutive self-assembly of three different molecular layers of 1,10-decanedithiol, vinyl-polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane, and 1-octadecanethiol.
