Background: Granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF)-producing tumors can cause leukocytosis despite an absence of infection. G-CSF-producing tumors have been reported in various organs such as the lung, esophagus, and stomach but rarely in the breast. We report a case of G-CSF-producing malignant phyllodes tumor of the breast.

DLBCL-CI is an aggressive lymphoma occurring in the context of long-standing chronic inflammation and showing an association with Epstein-Barr virus. Fibrin-associated diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (F-DLBCL) was suggested as a new and unusual form of DLBCL-CI in the most recent version of the World Health Organization classification.

Here, we describe an atypical case of BilIN resembling cholangiocarcinoma (CC) that was large enough to be identified by diagnostic imaging and presented with obstructive jaundice caused by a hematoma in the common bile duct (CBD).
Case Presentation: A 64-year-old man presented to our hospital with upper abdominal pain and anorexia.
5-Azacytidine (5AC), a hypomethylating agent, is clinically used for the treatment of patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). Cytidine deaminase (CDA) is a key enzyme in the detoxification of 5AC. We investigated whether the CDA expression could predict response to 5AC in MDS.

However, it is not clear how Tax-specific CTLs behave in lymph nodes of ATLL patients. The present study analyzed the immunostaining of Tax-specific CTLs.

We report here a case of dedifferentiated liposarcoma with huge cystic change without preoperative chemo- or radiation therapy. The lesion arose in the retroperitoneum juxtaposed to the right kidney of a 67-year-old woman.

These tumors have an aggressive clinical course and no established treatment. Here, we report an autopsy case of G-CSF-production in pancreatic anaplastic carcinoma (PAC).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFMantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is an aggressive B cell lymphoma with a poor prognosis. It is characterized by the t(11;14)(q13;q32) translocation, resulting in over-expression of CCND1. Morphologically, MCL is categorised into two types: classical MCL (cMCL) and aggressive MCL (aMCL), with a proportion of cMCL progressing to develop into aMCL.

We reviewed 22 cases of DH lymphomas. BCL2/MYC DH lymphomas constituted the majority of these DH lymphomas (17 cases; 77%), followed by BCL6/MYC (2 cases; 9%) lymphomas.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTranslocations involving MYC are highly characteristic for Burkitt lymphoma (BL). BCL2 expression has also been found previously in about 10 to 20% of BL cases, and BCL2 translocation is a major mechanism for the deregulation of BCL2 expression in non-Hodgkin lymphomas. However, we know little about the incidence of MYC/BCL2 double-hit (DH) in BL.

To identify the mechanism for epidermotropism of lymphoma cells, total RNAs were obtained from skin biopsies of epidermis and dermis of MF and ATLL patients by means of laser capture microdissection, and used for subsequent complementary DNA (cDNA) microarray experiments. This procedure has made it possible for us to observe and evaluate the regional environment of MF and ATLL.

However, a statistically valid, clinicopathological comparison between CD5-positive FL and CD5-negative FL has never been performed because of its rarity. We statistically compared clinicopathological characteristics of 22 cases of CD5-positive FL, diagnosed by immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and morphological findings, with those of 62 cases of FL without CD5 expression (control cases).

Unfortunately, it is still unknown which genes contribute to each event. In this study, we performed cDNA microarray experiments designed based on the concept that morphologically heterogeneous MCL samples would provide insights into the role of aberrant gene expression for both events.

Immunosuppressive states due to methotrexate (MTX) and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) reactivation have been regarded as causes. Sometimes spontaneous regression occurs after withdrawal of MTX.

To characterize this disease, LD cases were compared with other types of CHL. From 1982 to 2006, we collected 310 CHL cases.

FGFR1 encodes a transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinase. The resultant fusion proteins are constitutively active tyrosine kinases that drive the proliferation of hematopoietic cells, whose uncontrolled growth can present as a myeloproliferative neoplasm.

However, due to the small number of cases, the incidence of t(14;18) in HL associated with FL remains unclear. In this study, we applied chromogenic in situ hybridization and fluorescence in situ hybridization for t(14;18) on paraffin-embedded tissue from four HL associated with FL cases and 11 HL cases without a history of FL for comparison.

Almost all f-PTCL cases showed pathologic characteristics of AITL and immunohistochemical positivities in lymphoma cells for CD4, CD10, Bcl-6, PD-1, and CXCL13. Except for pathologic characteristics, clinicopathologic findings in f-PTCL had few significant differences from AITL.
