Background & Aim: SGLT2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) improve hepatic steatosis in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and MASLD. We aimed to investigate the impact of SGLT2i on the incidence of liver-related events and extrahepatic cancer compared to DPP4 inhibitors (DPP4i) in patients with T2DM and suspected MASLD using a medical claims database in Japan.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective study using a Japanese medical claims database.

Optimal growth and health of suckling neonates critically depend on milk production by their mothers. In both humans and animals, branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) are not only the major components of milk proteins but are also nitrogenous precursors for the synthesis of glutamate, glutamine, alanine, and aspartate in the mammary gland. These synthetic pathways, which are initiated by BCAA transaminase, contribute to the high abundance of free and peptide-bound glutamate, glutamine, aspartate and asparagine in milk.

Objectives: Our objectives were to explore the safety and efficacy of capsinoids taken orally (6 mg/d) for weight loss, fat loss, and change in metabolism and to examine whether candidate genes are predictors of capsinoid response.
Design: This was a 12-wk, placebo-controlled, double-blind, randomized study.
