Hepatitis C virus recurrence in two patients who achieved sustained viral response with interferon-free direct-acting antiviral therapy: reinfection or relapse?

We experienced two patients with chronic hepatitis C (HCV) in whom it was difficult to distinguish between relapse and reinfection after interferon-free direct-acting antiviral (DAA) therapy. Case 1 was a 55-year-old man infected with HCV genotype 1b, at 5.6 log IU/mL, with a history of injecting drug use.

[A Case of Advanced Rectal Cancer Resected Successfully after Induction Chemotherapy with Modified FOLFOX6 plus Panitumumab].

We report a case of advanced colon cancer that was effectively treated with mFOLFOX6 plus panitumumab combination chemotherapy. The patient was a 54-year-old man who had type 2 colon cancer of the rectum. An abdominal CT scan demonstrated rectal cancer with bulky lymph node metastasis and 1 hepatic node (rectal cancer SI [bladder retroperitoneum], N2M0H1P0, cStage IV).
