Positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) improves respiratory conditions. However, the complex interaction between PEEP and hemodynamics in heart failure patients makes it challenging to determine appropriate PEEP settings. Venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) benefits patients with cardiogenic shock (CS) but can increase left ventricular afterload and exacerbate pulmonary edema. Adding a percutaneous left ventricular assist device (LVAD) to VA-ECMO can optimize the hemodynamics. Osimertinib, a third-generation epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI), is routinely prescribed as first-line therapy for advanced non-small cell lung cancer, regardless of the presence of the T790M resistance mutation. This study reports a rare case of Factor V inhibitor detection during osimertinib therapy in a patient with lung adenocarcinoma.
