Prevalence and predictors of erectile dysfunction among men in the diabetes prevention program outcomes study.

Objective: To determine burden and identify correlates of erectile dysfunction (ED) among men with prediabetes (PreD) and type 2 diabetes (T2D) enrolled in the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) Outcomes Study (DPPOS).

Research Design And Methods: The 2017 DPPOS visit included administration of the International Index of Erectile Function. Of 648 male participants, 88 % (n = 568) completed the survey.

Non-surgical therapies for Peyronie's disease.

Background: Peyronie's disease is a condition that results in the development of penile plaques that can lead to penile curvature, pain, and erectile dysfunction, making sexual activity difficult. A number of non-surgical interventions exist to improve this condition, which include topical and injection agents as well as mechanical methods; however, their effectiveness remains uncertain. We performed this review to determine the effects of these non-surgical treatments.

Destroyed bladders: Characterization of progressive inflammatory cystitis.

Purpose: We identified a subset of patients with noninfectious cystitis who develop refractory symptoms marked by diffuse inflammatory changes, reduced bladder capacity, and vesicoureteral reflux (VUR), termed here as "progressive inflammatory cystitis" (PIC). Our objective was to describe the phenotype, disease outcomes, and pathologic findings of PIC.

Material And Methods: A single institution retrospective cohort study of patients with PIC.

The Utility of Radiologic and Symptomatic Surveillance After Minimally-invasive Adult Pyeloplasty.

Objective: To evaluate different types of failure after minimally-invasive pyeloplasty (MIP) when stratified by initial radiologic study and symptoms after ureteral stent removal.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed adults who underwent MIP (1996-2019) at a single academic center. Patients with at least 11 months of follow-up and patients who had a Mag3 scan as their initial postoperative imaging were included.

The 10-year priapism experience: identifying clearer targets for intervention.

Background: There is a paucity of data on the clinical experience of priapism. Moreover, little work has explored differences in practice patterns between urologists and emergency medicine (EM) physicians. Our primary objective was to understand the priapism patient population and identify targets that may guide clinical translational efforts.

Urologic complications in diabetes.

Urologic complications such as bladder and sexual dysfunction among men and women with diabetes have received relatively little attention. This is despite emerging evidence that demonstrates that urologic complications increase with age in the general population and are more common in individuals with diabetes compared to those without diabetes. Here we summarize the latest information about the epidemiology of urologic complications in the setting of diabetes and the most recent findings regarding pathophysiology.

Surveillance After Ureteroneocystostomy: Is it Necessary?

Objective: To determine the utility of post-operative imaging after ureteroneocystostomy and whether long-term symptom or radiographic surveillance aided in the detection of recurrent obstruction.

Materials And Methods: Adult patients were identified who underwent a ureteroneocystostomy with or without psoas hitch or Boari flap between January 2012 and June 2021. Patients who underwent a bilateral procedure, had active malignancy or immediate failure, or did not have 6 months of follow-up with 2 imaging studies were excluded.
