Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) have become increasingly important as next-generation energy storage systems for application in large-scale energy storage. It is very crucial to develop an eco-friendly and green SIB technique with superior performance for sustainable future use. Replacing the conventional inorganic electrode materials with green and safe organic electrodes will be a promising approach.

Dose-response relationship of stereotactic body radiotherapy for ultracentral tumor and comparison of efficacy with central tumor: a meta-analysis.

Background: Ultracentral (UC) tumors, a subset of central lung tumors defined as those that abut the proximal bronchial tree (PBT), have been contraindicated for stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT). The present meta-analysis evaluated the efficacy of SBRT for UC and central tumors, and dose-response for local control (LC) of UC tumors.

Methods: Databases including MEDLINE and EMBASE were searched up to March, 2020, to identify studies regarding SBRT for UC and/or central tumors.

Importance: Progression-free survival (PFS) rate at 6 months has been proposed as a potential surrogate for overall survival (OS) rate at 12 months for immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) trials but requires further assessment for validation.

Objective: To validate 6-month PFS and objective response rate (ORR) as estimators of 12-month OS in the ICI arms of randomized clinical trials (RCTs).

Data Sources: Electronic databases (Medline, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials) were searched for ICI RCTs published between January 2000 and June 2019.

Rare Clinical and Radiologic Case of Cholangiocarcinoma Mimicking Pyogenic Abscess, Hepatic Echinococcal Cysts, and Metastases.

Cholangiocarcinoma is a biliary carcinoma with a wide spectrum of imaging, histological, and clinical features. In immunocompromised patients, pyogenic abscesses are relatively common and an echinococcal hepatic cysts are very rare. The authors experienced a very rare case of cholangiocarcinoma showing multiple hypodense masses with wall enhancement mimicking pyogenic liver abscess, echinococcal hepatic cyst, and cystic metastases.

A uniaxially oriented diacetylene thin film on a macroscopic area is obtained by coating, self-assembling and topochemical photopolymerizing of imidazolium-functionalized diacetylenes (M-DA and T-DA) and 4,6-decadiyne ink (70 wt%:20 wt%:10 wt%) exhibiting a lyotropic smectic A liquid-crystalline phase at room temperature. The color and transparency of letters and symbols written with the DA-based secret inks change reversibly from blue to red as well as from colorless transparent to black opaque depending on the temperature and polarization axis.

Oncologic Benefit of Adjuvant Chemoradiation after D2 Gastrectomy: A Stepwise Hierarchical Pooled Analysis and Systematic Review.

Our study aimed to evaluate the benefits of chemoradiotherapy (CRT) after D2 gastrectomy, as compared to adjuvant chemotherapy, alone. PubMed, MEDLINE, Embase, and the Cochrane Library were systematically searched. We applied stepwise analyses that enabled the evaluation of data from randomized controlled trials (RCTs), balanced studies, and all studies separately and in a hierarchical manner.

Background And Objectives: Cardiac myxoma is the most frequent benign cardiac tumor that can result in cardiac and systemic symptoms. We investigated clinical and echocardiographic characteristics of patients with cardiac masses suggesting myxoma.

Methods: We investigated 265 consecutive patients with an echocardiographic diagnosis of cardiac myxomas in 4 teaching hospitals in Korea.

Physical activity status in relation to quality of life and dietary habits in breast cancer survivors: subset analyses of KROG 14-09 nationwide questionnaire study.

Purpose: We investigated the relationship of physical activity with dietary habits and quality of life (QoL) in breast cancer survivors in accordance with the recommendations of the American Cancer Society.

Methods: Data of 928 breast cancer survivors were obtained from the KROG 14-09 study to measure QoL in early phase after adjuvant radiotherapy. According to the extent of physical activity, survivors were divided into four groups: inactivity (0-149 min/week, N = 144), regular activity (150-450 min/week, N = 309), moderate activity (451-900 min/week, N = 229), and marked activity (901-1800 min/week, N = 164) excluding hyperactivity (> 1800 min/week, N = 82) as it is a difficult condition to recommend to survivors.

Can moderate-intensity aerobic exercise ameliorate atopic dermatitis?

It has been shown that aerobic exercise improves atopic dermatitis (AD), although the mechanism is not clear. Here, we propose a hypothesis that moderate-intensity aerobic exercise improves AD in a mouse model through modulating allergic inflammation. The DNCB-treated mouse model for eczema was divided into 3 groups: (a) not subjected to aerobic exercise, (b) subjected to continuous aerobic exercise and (c) subjected to accumulated aerobic exercise.

Association of herpes zoster with dementia and effect of antiviral therapy on dementia: a population-based cohort study.

We investigated the association between herpes zoster (HZ) and dementia, and the effects of antiviral therapy on the risk of dementia. We used the National Health Insurance Service-National Sample Cohort in South Korea to identify individuals that were followed from January 1, 2002, to December 31, 2013. Occurrences of HZ and dementia were identified using the relevant diagnostic codes.

Purpose: Despite a large number of resting-state functional MRI (rsfMRI) studies in schizophrenia, current evidence on the abnormalities of functional connectivity (FC) of resting-state networks shows high variability, and the findings on recent-onset schizophrenia are insufficient compared to those on chronic schizophrenia.

Patients And Methods: We performed a rsfMRI in 46 patients with recent-onset schizophrenia and 22 healthy controls. Group independent component brainmap and dual regression were performed for voxel-wise comparisons between the groups.

Lithium-sulfur batteries are attractive candidates for next generation high energy applications, but more research works are needed to overcome their current challenges, namely: (a) the poor electronic conductivity of sulfur, and (b) the dissolution and migration of long-chain polysulfides. Inspired by eco-friendly and bio-derived materials, we synthesized highly porous carbon from cinnamon sticks. The bio-carbon had an ultra-high surface area and large pore volume, which serves the dual functions of making sulfur particles highly conductive and acting as a polysulfide reservoir.

Knockdown of genes involved in axonal transport enhances the toxicity of human neuromuscular disease-linked MATR3 mutations in Drosophila.

Mutations in the nuclear matrix protein Matrin 3 (MATR3) have been identified in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and myopathy. To investigate the mechanisms underlying MATR3 mutations in neuromuscular diseases and efficiently screen for modifiers of MATR3 toxicity, we generated transgenic MATR3 flies. Our findings indicate that expression of wild-type or mutant MATR3 in motor neurons reduces climbing ability and lifespan of flies, while their expression in indirect flight muscles (IFM) results in abnormal wing positioning and muscle degeneration.

EUS-Guided Versus Percutaneous Celiac Neurolysis for the Management of Intractable Pain Due to Unresectable Pancreatic Cancer: A Randomized Clinical Trial.

Although endoscopic ultrasound-guided celiac neurolysis (EUS-CN) and percutaneous celiac neurolysis (PCN) are utilized to manage intractable pain in pancreatic cancer patients, no direct comparison has been made between the two methods. We compared the efficacy and safety of EUS-CN and PCN in managing intractable pain in such patients. Sixty pancreatic cancer patients with intractable pain were randomly assigned to EUS-CN ( = 30) or PCN ( = 30).

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed data from a stroke database to identify patients with acute BAO who underwent thrombectomy between January 2011 and August 2019.
