Efficient conversion from food waste to composite carbon source through rapid fermentation and ceramic membrane filtration.

Anaerobic fermentation of food waste (FW) produces a broth rich in small-molecule organic substances, which has the potential as a composite carbon source for denitrification in wastewater treatment. In this study, the idea was tested by optimizing the fermentation process at different hydraulic residence time (HRT), refining fermentation broth through ceramic membrane filtration, and comparing the performance of fermentation filtrate and other commercial carbon sources. A short HRT of 3 days was a suitable fermentation condition with 88% polysaccharide degradation.

To investigate hemodynamic parameters in 2 anatomical segments (S1 and S2) of anterior cerebral artery (ACA) in normal pregnancy during the second and third trimester of gestation.
 Methods: The peak systolic velocity (PSV), end diastolic velocity (EDV), time-average maximum velocity (TAMAXV), peak systolic velocity/end diastolic velocity (S/D), resistance index (RI), and pulsation index (PI) in S1 and S2 of fetal anterior cerebral artery (ACA) in 288 normal pregnant women were detected by power Doppler and pulsed Doppler. Multiple regression models were fitted to estimate the relation between Doppler variables and gestational age.

（《》）was written in 1827 and the author is unknown. The book has only one version which is collected by the National Library of Vietnam. The book contains one volume and includes contraindication of acupuncture and moxibustion, meridian points, point locations, indications and the therapeutic methods at extraordinary points.

[Moxibustion in the Wanan Fang and its clinical applications].

A summary and review on the Japanese ancient medical literature Wanan Fang is performed. Through the analysis and textual research on the Wanan Fang, it is found moxibustion is highly valued in this book, most of which is derived from the Chinese ancient medical literature before Yuan Dynasty, thus preserving valuable documents regarding moxibustion in the Chinese medical literature. The moxibustion indications recorded in the Wanan Fang are extensive, including disorders of internal medicine, external medicine and pediatrics; the moxibustion contraindications and post-moxibustion sore are also involved in the book.

[Academic heritage of Jiu huang ben cao (Materia Medica for Relief of Famines) in Japan].

Jiu huang ben cao (Materia Medica for Relief of Famines) was the first monograph on famines herbal in the history of China, which creates a new research field of edible plants. Around the middle and late 17th century, Jiu huang ben cao was spread to Japan and aroused great attention of famous Japanese herbalists. Thus, all versions of different edition systems were circulated in Japan.

[Research on the citation of Herbal in Dongeuibogam].

Dongeuibogam is the most prestigious traditional medical book in Korea, written by Heo Joon, who codified it by picking the essence of Chinese traditional medical books before the Ming Dynasty and some other ancient Chinese books and sorted them out. Among the citations of this book, those marked as"Herbal" is more complicated. We made a preliminary research on the citations of such Herbal, from their distribution, sources, citation manners, pharmacological features, to find that 23 rolls of main text to include citations of Herbal in each roll.

[Statistical analysis of existing ancient medical works in Japan and Korea and the development value].

The category, number, date of writing, circulated copies and library collection situation of 12275 Japanese medical works before 1912 and 416 Korean medical works before 1910 were analyzed. Most of these medical books are clinical books, which reflected the emphasis on clinical practice and conclusions in the two countries. Japanese medical books were mainly completed between the 17 - 19th century and nearly all of them are conserved as copies, while in Korea the number is 39.

Zhang Heteng's Shang shu quan shu of the Ming Dynasty and Ye Lin's Zeng ding shang shu quan shu of the Qing Dynasty are two significant books on warm diseases. By research into the author and the editor of both books, the process of its writing, the academic origin and evolution of its versions, it is found that there are errors concerning the date of writing, evolution of its number of volumes, and changes of versions found in the National United Catalogues of TCM Books and the General Catalogues of Chinese Ancient Medical Books which are subject to correction.
