Article Synopsis
  • Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) plays a key role in improving endometrial receptivity, which is crucial for embryo implantation, as demonstrated in a study using mouse models.
  • The research focused on the miR-126-3p/PIK3R2/PI3K/Akt/eNOS signaling pathway, showing that hCG enhances this pathway, which involves increased expression of certain proteins and suppression of others.
  • Results indicated that hCG treatment boosted cell proliferation in endometrial epithelial cells (EECs) while downregulating miR-126-3p, confirming that hCG helps to activate the PI3K/Akt/eNOS pathway to promote better implantation conditions.

Objectives: Fluorouracil chemotherapeutic drugs are the classic treatment drugs of gastric cancer. But the problem of drug resistance severely limits their clinical application. This study aims to investigate whether hypoxia microenvironment affects gastric cancer resistance to 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and discuss the changes of gene and proteins directly related to drug resistance under hypoxia condition.

Background: Antihypertensive medications may have some impacts on cancer. The influence of antihypertensive medications, including angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs)/angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs), beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers (CCBs) and diuretics, on patients with pancreatic cancer (PC) remains controversial. This meta-analysis was conducted to investigate whether antihypertensive medications had a negative effect on the prognosis of patients with PC.
