Molecular characterization and functional analysis of tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (ACP5) gene in red drum (Sciaenops ocellatus).

Tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (ACP5) plays an important biological function in immune defense and is highly expressed in activated macrophages, osteoclasts and dendritic cells. In teleost, the functionality of ACP5 remains to be revealed. In this study, we cloned and identified SoACP5 from red drum (Sciaenops ocellatus) and analyzed its function in vivo and in vitro.
