Impairments in the differentiation and migratory capacity of epidermal stem cells (ESCs) are pivotal factors contributing to delayed wound healing. High mobility group box1 (HMGB1) has recently emerged as a potential target for tissue repair. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the role and molecular mechanisms of HMGB1 in ESCs during the wound-healing process.

The continuous exploration of new analogs of calixarenes and pillararenes unlocks infinite opportunities in supramolecular chemistry and materials. In this work, we introduce a new class of macrocycle, phenyl-extended resorcin[4]arenes (ExR4), a unique and innovative design that incorporates unsubstituted phenylene moieties into the resorcin[4]arene scaffold. Single-crystal analysis reveals a chair-like conformation for per-methylated ExR4 (Me-ExR4) and a twisted "Figure-of-eight" shaped conformation for per-hydroxylated ExR4 (OH-ExR4).

However, how to improve the output performance and reduce friction and wear remain challenging. To this end, a blade-type triboelectric-electromagnetic hybrid generator (BT-TEHG) with a double frequency up-conversion (DFUC) mechanism is proposed.

Exercise therapy can be advantageous for improving the recovery of patients following surgery. However, there is continuing discussion on the precise aspects of the exercise program, including the optimal timing, length, intensity, and use of assistive equipment.

Studies have shown that fibroblast growth factor receptor-1 (FGFR1) was enhanced in pathological fibrous proliferation diseases, such as cirrhosis and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), suggesting the FGFR1 pathway has potential for keloid treatment. Derazantinib is a selective FGFR inhibitor with antiproliferative activity in in vitro and in vivo models.

As a newly identified programmed cell death, pyroptosis has been found to be closely associated with tumor progression. Nevertheless, the prognostic significance of pyroptosis in SKCM remains elusive.

In this present study, a combination of a methacrylated decellularized extracellular matrix (ECMMA, aka EM)-based hydrogel system loaded with copper-epigallocatechin gallate (Cu-EGCG) capsules is proposed to fabricate bio-printed dermal scaffolds for diabetic wound treatment. Copper ions act as a bioactive element for promoting angiogenesis, and EGCG can inhibit inflammation on the wound site.

Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted in nine databases. The methodological quality of literature was assessed according to the JBI Critical Appraisal Tools.
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is applied in the anticancer adjuvant therapy of various malignancies and pancreatic cancer included. Xiaoji recipe consists several TCM materials with anticancer activities. In our work, we intended to analyze the molecular targets as well as the underlying mechanisms of Xiaoji recipe against pancreatic cancer.

Previous neuroimaging studies demonstrated that chronic pain was associated with the altered brain activity. However, the pathological mechanisms associated with altered brain control of CP/CPPS are not well-understood.

CP/CPPS has substantial health care costs with unclear etiology, which may be caused by psychosocial factors. Moreover, previous studies suggested that cognitive processes played a crucial role in the perception of somatic pain.

Methods: A total of 72 cases with HNL with heat-toxin syndrome were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 36 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were treated with oral administration of prednisone tablets for 40 days (first 5 days: 10 mg, three times a day; since then, reduced by 5 mg every 7 days).

To accurately investigate in situ breast cancer would be very significant for real-time information and in situ diagnosis. In this in situ study, home-made hollow optical fiber attenuated total reflection (HOF-ATR) probe was integrated into Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopic system to perform breast cancer research at molecular level. Based on the FTIR spectral analysis on band shifts and absorbance ratios, it's disclosed that the molecular structure, conformation and content of main components change with cancerization of breast tissue.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is not only related to the degradation of articular cartilage, but also possibly to the changes of subchondral bone. The purpose of this study was to assess whether specific differences could be resolved from bone composition, as also contributed to OA. These differences were assessed by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIRS).

Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy imaging (FTIRSI) combined with spectral analysis and polarization approach was creatively used to investigate both structures of bilirubin (BR) precipitate and BR aggregate at liquid-liquid interface. It was found by spectral analysis that the internal hydrogen bonds of BR molecules all broke and the dihedral angles increased during the formation of BR aggregate at liquid-liquid interface. And the BR molecule might be of layer assembly along the long axis direction of CD half-group to form J-type aggregates, which could be parallel to the direction of the transition dipole moment of BR aggregate.

Methods: We selected 150 cases of BPH-CP in this study and divided them into 7 TCM syndrome types. Using univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses, we studied the correlation of each TCM syndrome type with the age, disease course, prostate volume, postvoid residual urine volume (PVR), prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level, maximum urinary flow rate (Qmax), and International Prostate Symptoms Score (IPSS).

The prevention and treatment efficiency of ethanol-induced gastric epithelial injury are not satisfied. We have previously shown that AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) activation exerts a pro-survival function in human gastric epithelial cells (GECs). miroRNA-451 ("miR-451")'s inhibitor, antagomiR-451, can activate AMPK signaling.
