  • - Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a common liver disease with no approved medications, and this study investigates the potential link between dietary antioxidants (measured by the composite dietary antioxidant index or CDAI) and MASLD.
  • - A large analysis using data from over 12,000 participants showed that higher CDAI values were often linked to non-MASLD statuses, with various statistical models suggesting a negative correlation between CDAI and liver stiffness or fat accumulation.
  • - Interestingly, while the relationship was linear for females, it was non-linear for males, indicating that gender may influence how dietary antioxidants impact liver health in regard to MASLD, with specific CDAI points highlighting this division.

Chronic viral infections cause T cell dysfunction in both animal models and human clinical settings, thereby affecting the ability of the host immune system to clear viral pathogens and develop proper virus-specific immune memory. However, the impact of chronic viral infections on the host's immune memory to other pathogens has not been well described. In this study, we immunized mice with recombinant Listeria monocytogenes expressing OVA (Lm-OVA) to generate immunity to Lm and allow analysis of OVA-specific memory T (Tm) cells.
