Removal of large fibrotic bladder blood clots using prostatic tissue morcellator under real-time ultrasound guidance.

Objective: Large fibrotic bladder blood clots are difficult to treat conventional methods. Hence, we investigated the safety and reliability of real-time ultrasound guidance combined with prostate tissue morcellator in the removal of large fibrotic bladder blood clots in this study.

Methods: We chose 9 patients with large fibrotic bladder blood clots who were treated in our department from January 2019 to December 2020.

[Rat prostate glandular epithelial cells cultured in vitro and their barrier function].

Objective: To culture rat prostate glandular epithelial cells and study their barrier functions in vitro.

Methods: Rat prostate glandular epithelial cells were cultured in vitro. The expression of the tight junction protein claudin-1 was determined by immunohistochemistry, the structure and composition of the epithelial cells observed under the inverted microscope and transmission electron microscope.

Microbubble-mediated ultrasound promotes accumulation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell to the prostate for treating chronic bacterial prostatitis in rats.

Chronic bacterial prostatitis (CBP) is an intractable disease. Although bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMMSCs) are able to regulate inflammation in CBP, the effect of microbubble-mediated ultrasound- induced accumulation of BMMSCs on CBP remains unclear. To address this gap, a model of CBP was established in SD rats, which were then treated with BMMSCs alone (BMMSC group), BMMSCs with ultrasound (ultrasound group), BMMSCs with microbubble-mediated ultrasound (MMUS group) and compared with a healthy control group.

Vitamin C intake and risk of renal cell carcinoma: a meta-analysis.

Studies have showed that vitamin C intake is linked to renal cell carcinoma risk, however, the results were inconsistent. Hence, the present meta-analysis was to examine the association between vitamin C intake and RCC risk. We searched the published studies that reported the relationship between vitamin C intake and RCC risk using PubMed and Embase up to January 2015.

In our study, the healthy, adult male SD rats were divided into four groups: the BC, US, MB, and MMUS groups. A therapeutic ultrasound apparatus was used to treat the rats prostates in the presence of circulating MBs.

Background: Prostatitis is a common disease in urology departments. Prostatic zinc accumulation is connected with the secretory function of the prostate, and zinc concentrations present in prostatic diseases differ greatly from the normal level. Vasectomy and prostate cancer risk: a meta-analysis of cohort studies.

Some studies have suggested that vasectomy is associated with the increased risk of prostate cancer, however, this conclusion is not supported by all the published studies. In order to examine the relationship between vasectomy and prostate cancer risk, we conducted a meta-analysis of cohort studies to clarify this controversial association. PubMed and Medline were used to identify the cohort studies that reported the association of vasectomy with prostate cancer risk from 1980 to January 2015.

Antisperm antibodies in infertile men and their effect on semen parameters: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Antisperm antibodies (ASA) in males cause the autoimmune disease 'immune infertility'. The mechanism of ASA cause male infertility is not clear. Present studies have investigated the effect of ASA and their incidence in men with unexplained infertility, as well as to evaluate the correlation between the ASA and semen parameter alterations but have shown inconsistent results.

Vitamin E Intake and Risk of Renal Cell Carcinoma: A Meta-Analysis of 7 Case-Control Studies.

Objective: Vitamin E intake may reduce the risk of renal cell carcinoma, but the results were inconsistent. Hence, we conducted a meta-analysis to assess the association between dietary vitamin E intake and the risk of renal cell carcinoma.

Methods: We searched PubMed to identify the relevant case-control studies up to June 2014.

The blood-prostate barrier could be the major factor that preventing delivery of drugs to prostate tissue and leads to the failure of treatment. Studies indicate that ultrasonic sonoporation can break the blood-prostate barrier and increase the concentration of drugs, but the mechanism is still unclear. Tight junctions exist widely in the endothelial and epithelial cells of mammalians, and form the biological barrier, along with other factors.

The effect of chronic bacterial prostatitis on semen quality in adult men: a meta-analysis of case-control studies.

Chronic bacterial prostatitis (CBP) is caused by bacterial infection and maintains a condition of lower urinary tract infection. It may be a cause of male infertility. However, studies showed inconsistent results regarding the effect of CBP on several parameters of semen.

Objective: To observe the biomechanic properties of sciatic nerve at the suture site in rats following repairing.

Methods: The right sciatic nerves of 40 white Sprague-Dawley 300-350 gm rats were exposed, cut and then repaired with 10-0 nylon sutures, laced in the epineurium. 0, 1, 3, 6 weeks after operation, the tensile strength of the sciatic nerves were measured, the data analyzed statistically.
