This study produced a method for the fast detection and identification of five strains of infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), including the currently prevalent wild-type QX and G Ⅵ-1 strains, in addition to the Mass, 4/91, and LDT3 strains that are used as vaccines. Based on the spike 1 (S1) glycoprotein gene sequences of the IBV Mass, QX, G Ⅵ-1, 4/91, and LDT3 strains, five sets of customized primers, showing excellent specificity, were designed and synthesized to target the appropriate conserved sequences. After repeated improvement, a multiple PCR detection approach with strong specificity for the simultaneous detection of IBV Mass, QX, G Ⅵ-1, 4/91, and LDT3 strains was initially established.

To eliminate electromagnetic pollution, it is a challenging task to develop highly efficient electromagnetic shielding materials that integrate microwave absorption (MA) performance with high shielding capability and achieve tunability in shielding performance. Asymmetrically structured aero/organo/hydrogels with a progressively changing concentration gradient of liquid metal nanoparticles (LMNPs), induced by gravity, are prepared by integrating the conductive fillers TiCT MXene and LMNPs into a dual-network structure composed of polyvinyl alcohol and cellulose nanofibers. Benefiting from the unique structure, which facilitates the absorption-reflection-reabsorption process of electromagnetic waves along with conductive fillers and the porous structure, three types of gels demonstrate efficient shielding performance.

Cancer/testis antigens (CTAs) are often aberrantly expressed in cancer stem cells (CSCs) which are responsible for tumor metastasis. Here we unveiled a novel magnetically separable amphoteric biosorbent (PD-FeO@CCS) and investigated its adsorption behavior toward two classes of heavy metals, hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) and copper (Cu(II)) ions from water. Results indicated that the adsorption behavior of PD-FeO@CCS for Cr(VI) was well described by Langmuir model; while for Cu(II) adsorption, the Freundlich model was the better one. Based on the kinetic results, both Cr(VI) and Cu(II) adsorption on PD-FeO@CCS fitted well with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model.

Bimetallic cobalt-nickel phosphides as a microwave absorber with a well-defined 3D hierarchical flower-like architecture featuring the ultrathin 2D subunits are very unusual and rarely reported.
