The wide use of anthracyclines represented by doxorubicin (DOX) has benefited cancer patients, yet the clinical application is limited due to its cardiotoxicity. Although numerous evidences have supported a role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in DOX-induced myocardial damage, the exact etiology and pathogenesis remain largely obscure. In this study, we focused on the role of miR-15b-5p in DOX-induced cardiotoxicity.

Objective: The aim of this study was to discover and validate a cutoff value of pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF)/vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) ratio for early prediction of PE before 20 weeks of gestation.
Study Design: This prospective multicenter study was performed in mainland China, and was divided into 3 phases to discover, develop, and validate a cutoff value of PEDF/VEGF ratio that could predict PE prior to diagnosis in pregnant women at high risk of PE (12 weeks 0 days to 19 weeks 6 days of gestation).
Objective: The aim of this research was to study the factors influencing the formation of intracranial aneurysms with irregular morphology by observing the dynamic volume change rate of intracranial unruptured aneurysms and other aneurysm characteristics.
Method: Sixty-five unruptured intracranial aneurysms of 51 consecutive patients from 1 center were included in this study. All patients underwent a dual-source computed tomography electrocardiogram-gated 4-dimensional computed tomography angiography examination.
In vivo mineralization is a multistep process involving mineral-protein complexes and various metastable compounds in vertebrates. In this complex process, the minerals produced in the mitochondrial matrix play a critical role in initiating extracellular mineralization. However, the functional mechanisms of the mitochondrial minerals are still a mystery.

While the viral proteins Tat and gp120 have been shown to individually inhibit the proliferation and neural differentiation of neural stem cells (NSCs), no studies have characterized the effects of all the combined viral proteins on adult neurogenesis.
Methods: The HIV-1 Tg26 transgenic mouse model was used due to its clinical relevance to ART-controlled HIV-1-infected patients who lack active viral replication but suffer from continuous stress from the viral proteins.
In this paper, a novel robust particle filter is proposed to address the measurement outliers occurring in the multiple autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) based cooperative navigation (CN). As compared with the classic unscented particle filter (UPF) based on Gaussian assumption of measurement noise, the proposed robust particle filter based on the maximum correntropy criterion (MCC) exhibits better robustness against heavy-tailed measurement noises that are often induced by measurement outliers in CN systems. Furthermore, the proposed robust particle filter is computationally much more efficient than existing robust UPF due to the use of a Kullback-Leibler distance-resampling to adjust the number of particles online.

The aim of the present study was to identify potential candidate blood indicators of doxorubicin-induced heart failure. The gene expression profiles of GSE40447 and GSE9128 microarray data were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus database to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) using the R/Limma package or GEO2R.

Materials And Methods: Loperamide was injected subcutaneously to induce constipation twice a day for 3 days. SD rats (n = 30) were randomly divided into five groups: non-constipation group (control, n = 6), constipation group (constipation, n = 6), constipation + SLIGRL-NH low-dosage group (SLIGRL-NH low, n=6), constipation + SLIGRL-NH high-dosage group (SLIGRL-NH high, n = 6), and constipation + prucalopride (positive control, n = 6).
A rule of thumb, denoted as IGA-rule 17, has been developed to describe the temperature and cutoff wavelength-dependent dark currents of wavelength-extended InGaAs photodetectors in a 2-3 μm band. The validity and limitations of the rule are discussed. This rule is intended as an index for device developers to evaluate their technologies in processing, a simple tool for device users to estimate reachable performance at various conditions in their design, and an effective bridge between the two.

The Inverse Wishart (IW) distribution is used to model the predicted error covariance and measurement noise covariance matrix. The state, together with the predicted error covariance and measurement noise covariance matrix, can be adaptively estimated based on VB approximation.

However, the prognostic value of TG/HDL-C ratio in revascularized ST-elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI) patients remains unclear. We examined the association between TG/HDL-C ratio and clinical outcome of revascularized STEMI patients in the Chinese population.

In this paper, we investigate the state estimation of systems with unknown covariance non-Gaussian measurement noise. A novel improved Gaussian filter (GF) is proposed, where the maximum correntropy criterion (MCC) is used to suppress the pollution of non-Gaussian measurement noise and its covariance is online estimated through the variational Bayes (VB) approximation. MCC and VB are integrated through the fixed-point iteration to modify the estimated measurement noise covariance.

Factors associated with elevated NLR may aid in the prediction of prognosis with heart failure (HF) in combination with NLR. The present study sought to identify decisive factors associated with NLR in HF patients and investigate their association with elevated NLR.

Background: The treatment choices of ankylosing spondylitis kyphosis remain controversial. The lack of a widely accepted classification system contributes to the variation in surgical decision making.
Biopolymer produced from marine Athelia strain presented unique Pseudoplastic behaviors under extremely-high temperature and salinity conditions. Characteristic analysis with FT-IR spectroscopy, high performance liquid chromatography, 1H and 13C NMR and two-dimensional COSY and HMQC spectra showed the structure of β-(1-6) glucans. Single-factor and orthogonal experiment design were used to optimize the yield, the maximum yield of the biopolymer was 28.

Inorganic aerogels have been attracting great interest owing to their distinctive structures and properties. However, the practical applications of inorganic aerogels are greatly restricted by their high brittleness and high fabrication cost. Herein, inspired by the cancellous bone, we have developed a novel kind of hydroxyapatite (HAP) nanowire-based inorganic aerogel with excellent elasticity, which is highly porous (porosity ≈ 99.
