Study Design: This prospective multicenter study was performed in mainland China, and was divided into 3 phases to discover, develop, and validate a cutoff value of PEDF/VEGF ratio that could predict PE prior to diagnosis in pregnant women at high risk of PE (12 weeks 0 days to 19 weeks 6 days of gestation).

Maximum Correntropy Based Unscented Particle Filter for Cooperative Navigation with Heavy-Tailed Measurement Noises.

In this paper, a novel robust particle filter is proposed to address the measurement outliers occurring in the multiple autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) based cooperative navigation (CN). As compared with the classic unscented particle filter (UPF) based on Gaussian assumption of measurement noise, the proposed robust particle filter based on the maximum correntropy criterion (MCC) exhibits better robustness against heavy-tailed measurement noises that are often induced by measurement outliers in CN systems. Furthermore, the proposed robust particle filter is computationally much more efficient than existing robust UPF due to the use of a Kullback-Leibler distance-resampling to adjust the number of particles online.

Purpose: To investigate the therapeutic effects of protease-activated receptor 2 (PAR-2) agonist SLIGRL-NH on loperamide-induced Sprague-Dawley (SD) rat constipation animal models.

Materials And Methods: Loperamide was injected subcutaneously to induce constipation twice a day for 3 days. SD rats (n = 30) were randomly divided into five groups: non-constipation group (control, n = 6), constipation group (constipation, n = 6), constipation + SLIGRL-NH low-dosage group (SLIGRL-NH low, n=6), constipation + SLIGRL-NH high-dosage group (SLIGRL-NH high, n = 6), and constipation + prucalopride (positive control, n = 6).

IGA-rule 17 for performance estimation of wavelength-extended InGaAs photodetectors: validity and limitations.

A rule of thumb, denoted as IGA-rule 17, has been developed to describe the temperature and cutoff wavelength-dependent dark currents of wavelength-extended InGaAs photodetectors in a 2-3 μm band. The validity and limitations of the rule are discussed. This rule is intended as an index for device developers to evaluate their technologies in processing, a simple tool for device users to estimate reachable performance at various conditions in their design, and an effective bridge between the two.

A New Variational Bayesian Adaptive Extended Kalman Filter for Cooperative Navigation.

To solve the problem of unknown state noises and uncertain measurement noises inherent in underwater cooperative navigation, a new Variational Bayesian (VB)-based Adaptive Extended Kalman Filter (VBAEKF) for master⁻slave Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) is proposed in this paper. The Inverse Wishart (IW) distribution is used to model the predicted error covariance and measurement noise covariance matrix. The state, together with the predicted error covariance and measurement noise covariance matrix, can be adaptively estimated based on VB approximation.

However, the prognostic value of TG/HDL-C ratio in revascularized ST-elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI) patients remains unclear. We examined the association between TG/HDL-C ratio and clinical outcome of revascularized STEMI patients in the Chinese population.

Adaptive Maximum Correntropy Gaussian Filter Based on Variational Bayes.

In this paper, we investigate the state estimation of systems with unknown covariance non-Gaussian measurement noise. A novel improved Gaussian filter (GF) is proposed, where the maximum correntropy criterion (MCC) is used to suppress the pollution of non-Gaussian measurement noise and its covariance is online estimated through the variational Bayes (VB) approximation. MCC and VB are integrated through the fixed-point iteration to modify the estimated measurement noise covariance.

Screening genes associated with elevated neutrophil‑to‑lymphocyte ratio in chronic heart failure.

Neutrophil‑to‑lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is commonly considered a useful prognostic index for many cardiovascular diseases; however, it has limited sensitivity and specificity. Factors associated with elevated NLR may aid in the prediction of prognosis with heart failure (HF) in combination with NLR. The present study sought to identify decisive factors associated with NLR in HF patients and investigate their association with elevated NLR.

The present study aimed to investigate the effect of tanshinone II, isolated from Bunge, on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute lung injury (ALI) in rats. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into three groups: Control, LPS and tanshinone II. Animals in the tanshinone II and LPS groups were administered 10 mg/kg LPS, whereas those in the control group received an equal volume of normal saline.

Electron-initiated low noise 1064 nm InGaAsP/InAlAs avalanche photodetectors.

We report an electron-initiated 1064 nm InGaAsP avalanche photodetectors (APDs) with an InAlAs multiplier. By utilizing a tailored digital alloy superlattice grading structure, a charge layer and a p type InAlAs multiplier, an unity gain quantum efficiency of 48%, a low room temperature dark current of 470 pA at 90% breakdown voltage, and a low multiplication noise with an effective k ratio of ∼0.2 are achieved.
