Sphingosine 1 phosphate receptor-1 (S1PR1) signaling protects cardiac function by inhibiting cardiomyocyte autophagy.

Objective: To investigate the role of sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) and its receptors in cardiomyocyte autophagy, cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and cardiac function.

Methods: Cardiomyocytes were isolated from neonatal Vista rats. Autophagy and hypertrophy of cardiomyocytes were induced via starvation culture and phenylephrine (PE), respectively, and S1P was used to treat the cardiomyocytes.

[Prevalence of dyslipidemia and borderline dyslipidemia in aging residents from Beijing communities].

Objective: To investigate the prevalence characters of dyslipidemia and borderline dyslipidemia in aging residents from Beijing communities and to evaluate the relative risk of cardiovascular risk factor (CRF) to dyslipidemia.

Methods: The samples were selected by random cluster multistage method. Serum lipid level and CRF were determined through questionnaire, physical examination and biochemical detection for 1974 subjects who was 65 and over 65 years old in Beijing communities.
