Heterotrimeric G proteins act as molecular switches in signal transduction in response to stimuli in all eukaryotes. However, what specifies G protein signalling in plants and how the mechanism evolved and diverged remain unsolved. Here, we found that the recently evolved tails of three Gγ subunits, Dense and erect panicle 1 (DEP1), G protein gamma subunit 2 of type C (GGC2), and Grain size 3 (GS3), determine their distinct functions and specify grain size in rice (Oryza sativa L.

Nevertheless, the gene family remains to be characterized in Poaceae (also known as Gramineae or grasses). Here, we performed a comprehensive analysis encompassing phylogenetic relationships, evolutionary pressures, and expression patterns of the gene family in six Poaceae species, including rice, , , , maize, and wheat.

BiTiO (BTO) nanorods loaded with Cu-Pd nanoalloys were designed for the highly selective photoreduction of CO to ethyl alcohol, using HO as the proton source. A tandem synergistic catalysis mechanism was proposed for this CO photoconversion process.

However, there has been no report about the roles of CRY genes in pepper, which often suffers from Phytophthora blight caused by Phytophthora capsici. In this work, three pepper CRY genes were identified and their characteristics were examined by bioinformatics analysis.

The pursuit of suitable insulating layers and high-quality integration methods is important to further improve the performance of field-effect transistors (FETs). In this study, we employ transferable high- oxide films as device gate dielectrics to fabricate high-quality optoelectronic devices by optimizing the interface between the dielectric material and the two-dimensional (2D) materials. Through meticulous refinement, a transferred film roughness of 269.

The impact of varied chalcogen bonds (sulfur, selenium, tellurium, and telluronium) on dynamic imine chemistry in aqueous solution is presented by introducing a carboxylate group or cationic telluronium into arylaldehydes. The role of chalcogen bonding in regulating the kinetics and thermodynamics of imine formation/exchange was elucidated through experimental and computational evidence, affording the largest effect for tellurium/telluronium compounds. By leveraging multivalent chalcogen bonding, telluronium-containing aldehyde enabled labeling of the -terminus of amino acids in neutral buffer.

Objectives: Diabetic foot (DF) poses a great challenge to us due to its poor therapeutic effect. To seek a new cure, the human dental pulp mesenchymal stem cells (hDP-MSCs) were modified by vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA) and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) (hEDP-MSCs) to investigate their curative effect on DF wound in animal models.
Methods: Forty-eight rats with DF constructed with streptozotocin and ligation of femoral arteries, were randomly divided into six equal groups, which respectively received an intramuscular injection of normal saline (Control group), hDP-MSCs, VEGFA-modified hDP-MSCs, bFGF-- modified hDP-MSCs, hEDP-MSCs, and Ad.
The four-electron water oxidation reaction in photoelectrochemical systems poses a major challenge to efficiently converting solar energy into chemical energy amid the global energy crisis. Herein, we report a strategy to develop a photoelectrochemical system using BiVO/BiVO isometallic heterojunction photoanodes paired with FeOOH/NiOOH cocatalysts to enhance water oxidation in neutral electrolytes. The results demonstrate that the BiVO/BiVO/FeOOH/NiOOH photoanode achieves a photocurrent density of 4.

In recent years, the utilization of wearable sensors for Human Activity Recognition (HAR) has garnered significant interest in the fields of medical health monitoring and sports management. However, HAR often suffer the poor generalization from the insufficient labeled data for complex activities. To address this issue, the novel Transfer Component Analysis-Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory network (TCA-BiLSTM) with the fused attention mechanism is presented in this paper.

To address this gap, the Rice Population Reference Panel (RPRP) was developed, comprising high-quality assemblies of 16 rice cultivars to represent , , , and varietal groups. The RPRP has been consistently annotated, supported by extensive experimental data and here we report the computational assignment, characterization and dissemination of stably identified pan-genes.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe regulation of exciton properties plays a crucial role in enhancing the activity of photocatalysts, primarily due to the rapid recombination of photoinduced electron-hole pairs caused by the strong Coulomb interaction between them. In this study, we explore the spin polarization effect in nanohybrids composed of graphitic carbon nitride (g-C₃N₄) and iron (Fe) nanoparticles, which accelerates exciton dissociation and spin-selective electron transfer, thereby improving the selective photoreduction of CO₂ into CO. Mechanistic studies reveal that the Fe⁺/Fe⁺ redox pairs, embedded in the iron oxide layer on the surface of Fe nanoparticles, function as ultrafast charge transfer shuttles via a double exchange interaction (Fe⁺─O─Fe⁺).

Sulfur-derived functional groups represent prevalent motifs in highly sought-after small molecules, such as active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Thioethers are one such example, being commonly encountered in APIs, prodrugs, and as valuable synthetic "linchpins" to access an array of sulfur-derived functional groups. While nucleophilic aromatic substitution (SAr) has traditionally been used to synthesize aryl thioethers, modern approaches leverage transition metals to catalyze thermal or photochemical cross-coupling.
