Self-management experiences in fall prevention among community-dwelling older adults in China: a descriptive qualitative study.

Background: Falls are the most common injuries in older adults, and fall prevention is one of the primary measures to achieve healthy aging. Self-management refers to the measures taken by individuals to avoid various adverse factors and health damage to protect and promote their health. This study aimed to explore the factors and measures of self-managed fall prevention among community-dwelling older adults.

Background: Aging and empty-nesting in China are becoming more and more serious. Empty-nesters refer to older adults who were not living with their children, were living alone, or were living independently with their spouses. The mental health of empty-nesters needs timely attention.

High expression of RRM2 as an independent predictive factor of poor prognosis in patients with lung adenocarcinoma.

Ribonucleotide reductase subunit M2 may play a role as a potential prognostic biomarker in several cancers. In this study, we evaluated whether gene expression is associated with the prognosis of patients with lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) using publicly available data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). Wilcoxon signed-rank test and logistic regression were performed to evaluate the association between expression and clinical features in patients with LUAD.

Effect of Second mitochondria-derived activator of caspase in combination with Docetaxel on lung cancer cell A549.

This study was to investigate inhibiting effect of structurally unique Second mitochondria-derived activator of caspase (Smac) in combination with Docetaxel on lung cancer cell line A549. Results showed that the expression of Smac in transfected A549 cells was higher than the control cells both at mRNA level and protein level (P<0.05).

Characterizations of some fuzzy prefilters (filters) in EQ-algebras.

We introduce and study some types of fuzzy prefilters (filters) in EQ-algebras. First, we present several characterizations of fuzzy positive implicative prefilters (filters), fuzzy implicative prefilters (filters), and fuzzy fantastic prefilters (filters). Next, using their characterizations, we mainly consider the relationships among these special fuzzy filters.
