Necrosis at the distal end of random skin flaps remains a significant challenge, limiting the clinical application of these flaps in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Inhibiting ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury and promoting the formation of neovascular networks are critical preventive strategies. Platelet-derived small extracellular vesicles (PL-sEV) are nanocarriers of growth factors that provide an alternative to clinically used platelet-rich plasma and platelet lysates, offering higher growth factor concentrations and lower immunogenicity.

Relevance: Spontaneous abortion (SAB) and recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) occur alone or concurrently with increasing incidences recently. Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi (SBG) has been used to prevent pregnancy loss for thousands of years, which is recognized as a "pregnancy-stabilizing herb" in ancient China. Baicalin (BA) and its metabolite baicalein (BE) are the main bioactive flavonoids in the root of SBG.

The global chicken business has grown rapidly, producing millions of tons of feather waste annually. Keratinase is a special enzyme that catalyzes the degradation of keratin and can be applied to the feed industry. In this study, we initially set the tone for the acid-resistant mutation of spore surface-display keratinase cotG-KERQ7 by replacing base-catalytic residues in the active center.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary fiber (DF) levels and copper concentrations on the production performance and cecal microbial diversity of finishing pigs. A 2 × 2 factorial experimental design was used, with different levels of dietary fiber (low [23% DF]: L and high [30% DF]: H) and copper concentrations (normal [25 mg/kg]: N and supplemented [45 mg/kg]: S) resulting in four diets (LN, LS, HN, and HS). Forty-eight hybrid barrows (Duroc × Landrace × Yorkshire), with an initial body weight of 76 kg ± 1.

Avascular necrosis of the femoral head (ANFH) is a type of osteonecrosis due to the cessation of blood supply, characterized by persistent local pain and collapse of the joint. The etiology of ANFH is multifaceted, and while its precise pathogenesis remains elusive, it is currently widely believed that the femoral head is highly dependent on the vascular system. A large number of studies have shown that vascular injury is the initial factor in the onset of ANFH.

In Pseudomonas putida KT2440, a prime chassis for biotechnology, the clustered distribution of glucose catabolism genes and four related transcription factors (TFs) may facilitate the tight regulation of glucose catabolism. However, the genes under the direct control of these TFs remain unidentified, leaving their regulatory roles elusive. Furthermore, the carbon source gluconate was metabolised similarly to glucose in KT2440, but the responses of these catabolic and TF genes to gluconate were unclear.

Electrochemical methods for treating phenolic wastewater have been widely studied, with most research focusing primarily on the anode, while the cathode has generally served as a counter electrode. This study aims to enhance the electrocatalytic process by developing a new Fe/Cu-based cathode using a simple redox method. We created a CuOCu@Fe-FeO (0 < x < 1, combining FeO and FeO) electrode, referred to as CCFFO, to facilitate the electro-Fenton process without requiring additional HO or Fe.

Osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) is a common complication of glucocorticoid (GC) therapy. Recent advances demonstrate that sympathetic nerves regulate bone homeostasis, and GCs lower the sympathetic tone. Here, we show that the dramatically decreased sympathetic tone is closely associated with the pathogenesis of GC-induced ONFH.

Background: Lignin peroxidase is closely related to agriculture and food as it improves the quality of feedstuffs, facilitates the degradation of lignin in agricultural wastes, and degrades azo dyes that have similar complex structures to lignin. However, the current status of homologous or heterologous expression of lignin peroxidase is unsatisfactory and needs to be modified with the help of immobilization and directed evolution to maximize its potential. Directed evolution technology is an effective strategy for designing and improving enzyme characteristics, and Bacillus subtilis spore surface display technology is an efficient method for preparing immobilized enzymes.
