Accurate parametrization of amino acids is pivotal for the development of reliable force fields for molecular modeling of biomolecules such as proteins. Background: Previous studies have shown that alterations in the gut microbiota are closely associated with Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) development. However, the value of gut microbiota for early diagnosis of ACS remains understudied.
Methods: We recruited 66 volunteers, including 29 patients with a first diagnosis of ACS and 37 healthy volunteers during the same period, collected their fecal samples, and sequenced the V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene.
Human aging is invariably accompanied by a decline in renal function, a process potentially exacerbated by uremic toxins originating from gut microbes. Based on a registered household Chinese Guangxi longevity cohort (n = 151), we conducted comprehensive profiling of the gut microbiota and serum metabolome of individuals from 22 to 111 years of age and validated the findings in two independent East Asian aging cohorts (Japan aging cohort n = 330, Yunnan aging cohort n = 80), identifying unique age-dependent differences in the microbiota and serum metabolome. We discovered that the influence of the gut microbiota on serum metabolites intensifies with advancing age.

Induced dipole models have proven to be effective tools for simulating electronic polarization effects in biochemical processes, yet their potential has been constrained by energy conservation issue, particularly when historical data is utilized for dipole prediction. This study identifies error outliers as the primary factor causing this failure of energy conservation and proposes a comprehensive scheme to overcome this limitation. Leveraging maximum relative errors as a convergence metric, our data demonstrates that energy conservation can be upheld even when using historical information for dipole predictions.

We found that the acute-phase protein lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP) inhibits monoamine biosynthesis by acting as an endogenous inhibitor of dopamine-β-hydroxylase (DBH) and aromatic-L-amino-acid-decarboxylase (DDC). LBP expression was increased in individuals with depression and by diverse stress challenges in mice.
