Background/aims: Fexuprazan, a novel potassium-competitive acid blocker, was developed for treating acid-related disorders. Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of fexuprazan, unlike those of proton pump inhibitors, are independent of food effect. This study aims to evaluate differences in efficacy and safety of fexuprazan in patients with erosive esophagitis (EE) according to the timing of dosing.

Isolated recurrent metastatic pulmonary nodule from the kidney: An extraordinarily long interval.

Our case highlights the importance of follow-up. Previous meta-analysis has shown that patients with sub-centimetre nodules may have extended follow-up intervals before requiring intervention, unlike those with larger nodules exceeding 1 cm. However, referring to our case, we can see the importance of regular and dense follow-up.

Associations between Clinicopathological Characteristics and Intraoperative Opioid Requirements during Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection with Monitored Anesthesia Care: A Retrospective Study.

Endoscopic submucosal dissection is used to treat early gastric neoplasms. Compared with other endoscopic procedures, it requires higher doses of opioids, leading to adverse events during monitored anesthesia care. We investigated the correlations between clinicopathological characteristics and intraprocedural opioid requirements in patients who underwent endoscopic submucosal dissection under monitored anesthesia care.

Calcifying fibrous tumour of the pleura without gross calcification.

Calcifying fibrous tumours of the pleura (CFTP) typically appear as calcified, non-enhancing lesions on chest CT scans. However, enhancing pleural lesions can mimic malignancy like mesothelioma. We report a rare case that enhancing pleural thickening, confirmed as CFTP through pathological examination, despite the absence of visible calcification on radiological imaging.

Clinical effectiveness of spindle-view intracytoplasmic sperm injection compared to conventional intracytoplasmic sperm injection in patients with poor ovarian response and previous implantation failure.

Objective: This study aimed to determine the clinical advantage of spindle-view intracytoplasmic sperm injection (SVICSI; a novel technology) over conventional intracytoplasmic sperm injection (cICSI) in patients with poor ovarian response (POR) and previous implantation failure.

Methods: The study included 37 patients who underwent SVICSI followed by fresh embryo transfer (FET) at a single fertility clinic from January to December 2022, 58 patients who underwent cICSI followed by FET at the same fertility clinic from January to December 2021 as a control group. All study participants met the Bologna criteria for POR and had at least three or more previous failed embryo transfers.

Here, we report the first case of familial schwannomatosis with regard to the segmental/generalized phenotype, in which the proband and the daughter present a distinct phenotype in this classification.

Sequential Afatinib and Osimertinib in Asian Patients with Mutation-Positive Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer and Acquired T790M: Combined Analysis of Two Global Non-Interventional Studies.

Here, we have undertaken a combined analysis of Asian patients from both studies.
