Insight into real-world treatment-related toxic effects reported by patients has the potential to improve care, benchmark trials, and fill knowledge gaps, especially in patients with chronic myeloid leukaemia, which is treated in the majority of patients continually with tyrosine-kinase inhibitors (TKIs). The aim of our systematic review was to investigate the content validity of instruments that elicit TKI-related toxic effects reported by patients with chronic myeloid leukaemia in the real world. We searched PubMed and Embase from Jan 1, 2017 to Oct 21, 2022.

As the choice for dose reduction depends on patients' individual needs and preferences, a patient-centred approach is warranted. Therefore, a study to evaluate the effectiveness of patient-guided dose reduction in patients with CML who are in a major or deep molecular response is designed.

The CMyLife platform is an eHealth innovation, co-created with and for CML patients, aiming to improve their care, leading to an increased quality of life and the opportunity of hospital-free care.
Objective: To explore the effectiveness of CMyLife in terms of information provision, patient empowerment, medication compliance, molecular monitoring, and quality of life.
Given the impact of health literacy (HL) on patients' outcomes, limited health literacy is a major barrier to improve cancer care globally. HL refers to the degree in which an individual is able to acquire, process, and comprehend information in a way to be actively involved in their health decisions. Previous research found that almost half of the population in developed countries have difficulties in understanding health-related information.

However, in general, the uptake of these innovations is low. Studies show that eHealth is helpful in providing patient empowerment through e.

Aim: This study aimed to improve insight into the current diagnostic process of these patients.
Introduction: Bleeding assessment tools and laboratory phenotyping often remain inconclusive in patients with a haemorrhagic diathesis.
Aim: To describe the phenotype and genetic profile of patients with a bleeding tendency.
Methods: Whole exome sequencing (WES) was incorporated in the routine diagnostic pathway of patients with thrombocytopenia (n = 17), platelet function disorders (n = 19) and an unexplained bleeding tendency (n = 51).
Background: Understanding the effectiveness of treatment for depression in both the short term and long term is essential for clinical decision making. The present meta-analysis examined treatment effects on depression and quality of life in acute-phase psychotherapeutic interventions compared to no treatment control groups for adult depression at 6 months or longer postrandomization.
Methods: A systematic literature search resulted in 44 randomized controlled trials with 6,096 participants.
Objective: To compare the effectiveness of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in patients with coronary artery disease.
Methods: MEDLINE, Embase, and Cochrane Central were searched, and randomized controlled trials were included. Outcomes were assessed at maximum available follow-up.
Background: A health technology assessment (HTA) of left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) as destination therapy in patients with end-stage heart failure was commissioned by the Dutch Health Care Insurance Board [College voor Zorgverzekeringen (CVZ)]. In this context, a systematic review of the economic literature was performed to assess the procedure's value for money.
Methods: A systematic search (updated in December 2013) for economic evaluations was performed by consulting various databases: the HTA database produced by the Centre for Reviews and Dissemination (CRD HTA), websites of HTA institutes, CRD's National Health Service Economic Evaluation Database (NHS EED), Medline (OVID) and EMBASE.

Objectives: Mechanical circulatory support through left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) improves survival and quality of life for patients with end-stage heart failure who are ineligible for cardiac transplantation. Our aim was to calculate the cost-effectiveness of continuous-flow LVADs.
Methods: A cost-utility analysis from a societal perspective was performed.
The documentation of individual cases of child torture is of paramount importance to bring justice to, and help heal, individuals and sensitize societies. Our objective is to systematically review medical guidelines for the recording of individual cases of child torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment (CIDT). We searched CINAHL, Embase, the Guidelines International Network, Lilacs, Medline, the National Guideline Clearinghouse, PsychInfo and all websites of the organizations participating in the updating of the Istanbul Protocol for guidelines or studies on how to document torture, CIDT or abuse in persons under 18 years.

Background: After cardiac surgery, physical therapy is a routine procedure delivered with the aim of preventing postoperative pulmonary complications.
Objectives: To determine if preoperative physical therapy with an exercise component can prevent postoperative pulmonary complications in cardiac surgery patients, and to evaluate which type of patient benefits and which type of physical therapy is most effective.
Search Methods: Searches were run on the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) on the Cochrane Library (2011, Issue 12 ); MEDLINE (1966 to 12 December 2011); EMBASE (1980 to week 49, 2011); the Physical Therapy Evidence Database (PEDro) (to 12 December 2011) and CINAHL (1982 to 12 December 2011).
The effectiveness of psychoanalysis and long-term psychoanalytic psychotherapy (LTPP) is debated. We evaluated the effectiveness of LTPP, compared to other treatments or no treatment, in patients with clearly defined metal disorders. We selected randomised or quasi-randomised controlled trials on LTPP.

Intussusception, a potentially lethal condition with poorly understood etiology, is the most common cause of acute intestinal obstruction in children younger than 5 years old. In some cases, the condition has been associated with administration of the first licensed rotavirus vaccine, the reassortant rhesus-human tetravalent rotavirus vaccine (RRV-TV; RotaShield). No such association has to date been reported from large phase III safety trials with new rotavirus vaccines.
