The prevention of pneumonia in bedridden older patients is important, and its recurrence in these patients is a relevant issue. Patients who are bedridden and inactive, and have dysphagia are considered to be at risk for pneumonia. Efforts to reduce the bedridden state and low activity may be necessary to reduce the risk of developing pneumonia in bedridden older patients.
