[Prostatic abscess--diagnosis and treatment].

Prostatic abscess is an uncommon condition, often difficult to discern clinically from acute prostatitis. It results from focal accumulation of pus within the prostate gland. Historically, the common infecting organisms were Neisseria gonorrheae, Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
