Introduction/aims: Claims-based analyses have demonstrated high medical costs associated with myasthenia gravis (MG). We examined the economic burden of MG from the perspective of affected people and their families.
Methods: The Muscular Dystrophy Association developed and conducted an online survey of people with MG and their caregivers between October 26 and December 6, 2021.
One of the neurobiological correlates of alcohol use disorder (AUD) is the disruption of striatal dopaminergic function. Although regional differences in dopamine (DA) tone/function have been well studied, interregional relationships (represented as inter-subject covariance) have not been investigated and may offer a novel avenue for understanding DA tone. Positron emission tomography (PET) data with [C]raclopride in 22 social drinking controls and 17 AUD participants were used to generate group-level striatal covariance (partial Pearson correlation) networks, which were compared edgewise as well as on global network metrics and community structure.

The nucleus accumbens is implicated in numerous reward-related behaviors, including reinforcement learning and incentive salience. The established functional connectivity of the accumbens includes regions associated with motivation, valuation, and affective processing.

The integration strand transfer reaction is catalyzed by a nucleoprotein complex (Intasome) containing the viral integrase (IN) and the reverse transcribed (RT) copy DNA (cDNA). Previous studies suggested that DNA target-site recognition limits intasome integration.

Moreover, attitudes held with moral conviction are experienced as universal objective truths and are less likely to demonstrate social conformity. Some evidence suggests that holding strong moral views may be a consequence of a cognitive style which includes lower metacognitive sensitivity.

Psychopathy is a personality disorder that includes lack of empathy and concern for others. In the present study, functional MRI was used to examine neural responses and functional connectivity associated with empathy and affective perspective-taking in female inmates (N = 109) with various levels of psychopathic traits, as measured with Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R).

Retroviral integrases require a divalent metal cation to perform one-step transesterification catalysis. Tetrameric prototype foamy virus (PFV) intasomes assembled from purified integrase and viral DNA oligonucleotides were characterized for their activity in the presence of different cations.

However, no studies have investigated cerebral blood flow (CBF) in nontreatment-seeking (NTS) individuals with AUD.
Methods: In this work, we sought to quantify putative CBF deficits in NTS individuals relative to social drinking (SD) controls and determine if CBF in the salience network is associated with AUD severity.
We wish to suggest the possibility there is a link between the brain and hematopoiesis in the bone marrow and that in the future it may be possible to use such information for better understanding of the regulation of hematopoiesis, and for efficacious treatment of hematopoietic disorders.

Few studies have investigated relationships between metabolite concentrations and white matter (WM) integrity; currently, there are no such data in AUD. In this preliminary study, we used complementary neuroimaging techniques, magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS), and diffusion weighted imaging (DWI), to study AUD neurophysiology.

The integration reaction is performed by the viral enzyme integrase in complex with the two ends of the viral cDNA genome and yields an integrated provirus. Retroviral vector particles are attractive gene therapy delivery tools due to their stable integration.

Moreover, understanding the emotions of others is an important foundation for moral decision-making. Psychopathy is associated with both aberrant emotional understanding and atypical hemodynamic responses when viewing and evaluating morally laden social interactions.

The objective of this study was to assess the well-being, resilience, burnout, and wellness factors and needs of EM physicians and advanced practice providers (e.g.

Prototype foamy virus (PFV) integrase (IN) forms a tetramer bound to two viral DNA (vDNA) ends in a complex termed an intasome. PFV IN consists of four domains: the amino terminal extension domain (NED), amino terminal domain (NTD), catalytic core domain (CCD), and carboxyl terminal domain (CTD).

Nevertheless, a complete view of the genes dependent upon NSD3 for expression and the developmental processes impacted by NSD3 in the neural crest was lacking. We used RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) to profile transcripts differentially expressed after NSD3 knockdown in chick premigratory neural crest cells, identifying 674 genes.

CRISPR editing of retroviral proviruses has been limited to HIV-1. We propose human T-cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV-1) as an excellent model to advance CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing technologies against actively expressing and latent retroviral proviruses. HTLV-1 is a tumorigenic human retrovirus responsible for the development of both leukemia/lymphoma (ATL) and a neurological disease (HAM/TSP).

While studies of other drug populations have shown marked increases in risky decision-making, the literature on cannabis users is not as clear. The current study examined the performance of 17 cannabis users and 14 non-users on the Balloon Analog Risk Task (BART) using behavioral, fMRI and effective connectivity methods.

The current study examined this dark side of morality by identifying specific cognitive and neural mechanisms associated with beliefs about the appropriateness of sociopolitical violence, and determining the extent to which the engagement of these mechanisms was predicted by moral convictions. Participants reported their moral convictions about a variety of sociopolitical issues prior to undergoing functional MRI scanning.

A major way ISIS accomplished this was by adopting Hollywood-style narrative structures for their propaganda videos. In particular, ISIS utilized a heroic martyr narrative, which focuses on an individual's personal glory and empowerment, in addition to traditional social martyr narratives, which emphasize duty to kindred and religion.
