Ovarian carcinoma is one of the most severe cancers in women, with a high relapse rate and limited secondary treatment options. To assist research in novel treatment technologies, including CD8(+) T cell-base immunotherapy, we examined the effect of tumor-infiltrating regulatory T cells (Tregs) in inhibiting CD8(+) T cell inflammation. We found that compared to their peripheral blood counterparts, tumor-infiltrating Tregs exhibited more potent inhibitory function, which was associated with higher interleukin 10 (IL-10) production in tumor-infiltrating Tregs.

Bladder cancer is one of the most common malignancies in the world. Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) plays important roles in regulating innate immunity and may affect the development of cancers. Polymorphisms in TLR4 gene have been shown to be associated with impaired immune responses.

Membrane protein and its interaction network have become a novel research direction in bioinformatics. In this paper, a novel membrane protein interaction network simulator is proposed for system biology studies by integrated intelligence method including spectrum analysis, fuzzy K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN) algorithm and so on. We consider biological system as a set of active computational components interacting with each other and with the external environment.

G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), the largest family of cell surface receptors, play an important role in the production of therapeutic drugs. The functions of GPCRs are closely related to their classification and subclassification. It is difficult to obtain the spatial structure of GPCRs sequence by experimental approaches.

Therefore, the information of hub proteins can provide very useful insights for selecting or prioritizing targets during drug development. In this paper, by combining the multi-agent-based method with the graphical spectrum analysis and immune-genetic algorithm, a novel simulator for identifying the hub proteins from membrane protein interaction networks is proposed.

Objective: Acoustic rhinometry (AR) was performed to standardize the measurement techniques, result interpretation and reference values of nasal cavity volume (NV) in preschool children.
Method: (1) Nasal cavity models were used to test the correlations between NV, minimal cross-sectional area (MCA), and nasal resistance. (2) There were 97 four-year-old and 137 five-year-old children underwent AR test.
Recently, a collective effort from multiple research areas has been made to understand biological systems at the system level. This research requires the ability to simulate particular biological systems as cells, organs, organisms, and communities. In this paper, a novel bio-network simulation platform is proposed for system biology studies by combining agent approaches.
