Purpose: Camrelizumab and rivoceranib together provide a new first-line treatment approach for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Meanwhile, transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) is an effective method for the local control of the HCC. The study compared the clinical benefit and safety between TACE with camrelizumab-rivoceranib and camrelizumab-rivoceranib alone for Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC)-C HCC patients.

Background: Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is one of the leading global causes of death, and serum iron (SI) levels may be associated with the mortality of CVD. However, there is still a knowledge gap regarding the relationship between SI and mortality in the CVD population.

Methods: An analysis was conducted utilizing data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 1999 to 2018.

Background: Platelets are associated with poor prognosis in most tumors, but their specific pathogenic mechanism in osteosarcoma is not yet clear. The objective of this study is to conduct an in-depth analysis of how genes closely related to platelet function impact the prognosis of osteosarcoma patients. We hope that through this research, we can uncover the potential mechanisms of these genes in the development and progression of osteosarcoma, thereby providing new therapeutic strategies and theoretical foundations for improving the prognosis of osteosarcoma patients.

Lithium metal batteries (LMBs) promise high-energy-density storage but face safety issues due to dendrite-induced lithium deposition, irreversible electrolyte consumption, and large volume changes, which hinder their practical applications. To address these issues, tuning lithium deposition by structuring a host for the lithium metal anode has been recognized as an efficient method. Herein, we report a supercritical water molecular scissor-controlled strategy to form a carbon framework derived from biomass wood.

This study aims to classify citizens' intentions to participate in carbon neutrality activities, emphasizing the crucial role of public engagement in achieving sustainability goals amid the climate crisis. The climate crisis has rapidly become one of the most pressing challenges to global sustainable development, with carbon neutrality as a key objective. To understand variations in citizens' willingness to engage in carbon neutrality efforts, we conducted a Latent Class Analysis (LCA) on responses from 800 residents of Cheongju, South Korea, categorizing their willingness to participate in 13 different carbon neutrality activities.

This article proposes a novel approach for improving the efficiency of fragrance designing and the accuracy of automatic fragrance formula creation based on empirical fragrance formulas and graph traversal algorithms. By effectively extracting the composition information and further analyzing the combination of fragrance materials in 210 fragrance formulas, a relational network model was constructed in the form of a graph to illustrate the relationship between the ingredients used in the formulas. Additionally, a fragrance ingredients information database of 344 common ingredients was constructed and used as a reference for perfumers when setting algorithmic constraints based on their experience.

Recent studies have revealed that intratumoral microbiota is implicated in pancreatic cancer (PC), yet the spectra of intratumoral microbiota and their relationship with PC in Chinese patients remained to be clarified. In this study, tumor and paired paracancerous tissue from 53 patients were profiled by bacterial 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Both and -diversity displayed significant differences between tumors and adjacent tissues, with higher diversity in tumors.

Purpose: To investigate the functional and structural characteristics of temporomandibular joint(TMJ) in introverted deep overbite patients with severe wear, to analyze the correlation between the vertical distance of the lower 1/3 of the face and TMJ space, and to compare the clinical efficacy of multidisciplinary treatment with orthodontics and prosthodontics on TMJ function.

Methods: Eighty patients with deep overbite and severe abrasion and forty subjects with normal occlusion admitted to our hospital from January 2019 to June 2023 were enrolled in this study. The clinical data were collected and the functional and structural characteristics of TMJ were collected.

Purpose: To evaluate the clinical effect of self-made oral science video on guiding parents to promote oral health of pre-school children, and to explore a more effective new technology in oral hygiene education.

Methods: One hundred and four 3-6 years old children with early childhood caries from Shanghai Xuhui District Dental Center were randomly recruited and divided into intervention group(n=52) and control group (n=52) during July to September 2022. At recruitment and 1 month after recruitment, the control group received routine oral health education, while the intervention group parents watched self-made oral health video and received routine oral health education.

Purpose: To explore the differences between plaque biofilms of children with different caries activities via metabolomics.

Methods: A case-control study was conducted to investigate the oral health-related behaviors of children in caries-free (CF), low level of early childhood caries(LECC) and high level of early childhood caries (HECC) groups and to collect supragingival plaque biofilms. Untargeted metabolomics was used to detect the compositions of plaque biofilm metabolites in three groups.

Purpose: This study was aimed to compare the difference between iRoot SP and AH Plus on root canal sealing ability for teeth extracted due to severe periodontitis and explore whether the dentin tubule pathway plays an important role in the development of endodontic-periodontic lesions(EPL), in order to provide a theoretical basis for selection of proper time for root canal therapy and suitable root canal sealants in patients with EPL.

Methods: Fifty single-root anterior teeth extracted due to severe periodontitis were selected. The roots were completely debrided to remove the calculus, dental plaque and cementum.

Nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain (NOD)-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3) is a cytosolic pattern recognition receptor that recognizes multiple pathogen-associated molecular patterns and damage-associated molecular patterns. It is a cytoplasmic immune factor that responds to cellular stress signals, and it is usually activated after infection or inflammation, forming an NLRP3 inflammasome to protect the body. Aberrant NLRP3 inflammasome activation is reportedly associated with some inflammatory diseases and metabolic diseases.

Background: Cognitive bias plays a crucial role in the onset and persistence of depression. Research has established a link between personality traits and cognitive bias; however, most of them focused on the general population, overlooking individuals with depression. We aim to explore the relationship between personality and cognitive bias in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) and compare the results with healthy controls (HCs) to identify potential patterns.

Objectives: To analyze the influence of daily activity-related factors associated with COVID-19 infection on the occurrence of acute angle closure (AAC).

Methods: A multicenter hospital-based study was conducted at 23 ophthalmic centers in 17 provincial-level regions across China to recruit patients with confirmed AAC during the post-lockdown time of COVID-19 (P-TOC) from Dec 7, 2022, to Jan 17, 2023, and three lockdown time of COVID-19 (TOC) periods, which included the TOC-2022 (Sep 7, 2022 - Dec 6, 2022), TOC-2021(Sep 7, 2021 - Jan 6, 2022) and TOC-2020 (Sep 7, 2020 - Jan 6, 2021). Patient information, including demographic, a questionnaire on daily activity changes during the AAC period, COVID-19 history, and eye examination results, was collected.

Macrocycles represent one important class of functional molecules, and dynamic macrocycles with the potential of cleavability, adaptability, and topological conversion are challenging. Herein we report photoswitchable allosteric and topological control of dynamic covalent macrocycles and further the use in guest binding and mechanically interlocked molecules. The manipulation of competing ring-chain equilibria and bond formation/scission within reaction systems enabled light-induced structural regulation over dithioacetal and thioacetal dynamic bonds, accordingly realizing bidirectional switching between crown ether-like covalent macrocycles and their linear counterparts.
