Objectives: The aim of the present study is to evaluate the accuracy of a digital template on the three-dimensional accuracy of edentulous implantation through a retrospective study to provide more clinical evidence for the use of digital templates in edentulous patient.
Materials And Methods: This study evaluates the efficacy of a digital surgical template in edentulous jaws, comparing preoperative plans with postoperative outcomes across four metrics: platform, apex, depth, and angular deviations. Utilizing a patient with an edentulous maxilla as a case study, this research employs CBCT for preoperative and postoperative assessments, with deviations analyzed via 3-Shape software.

The alveolar ridge split (ARS) technique is a pivotal advancement in dental implantology, addressing the limitation of insufficient bone width for implant placement. This review traces the historical development of ARS from its initial conceptualization to current practices and future directions. Emphasizing the technique's development, indications, procedural overview, and osteotomy variations, we highlight its minimally invasive nature, which reduces patient morbidity and treatment time.

Design: A prospective, randomized, controlled trial study.
Setting: A tertiary university hospital.
Objectives: Age and sex characteristics are evident in cephalometric radiographs (CRs), yet their accurate estimation remains challenging due to the complexity of these images. This study aimed to harness deep learning to automate age and sex estimation from CRs, potentially simplifying their interpretation.
Study Design: We compared the performance of 4 deep learning models (SVM, R-net, VGG16-SingleTask, and our proposed VGG16-MultiTask) in estimating age and sex from the testing dataset, utilizing a VGG16-based multitask deep learning model on 4,557 CRs.
Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) affects about 1% of women under 40 years and leads most often to definitive infertility with adverse health outcomes. Genetic factor has been reported to play an important role in POI. However, the genetic etiology remains unknown in the majority of the POI patients.

The microbiota in the human body play critical roles in many physiological and pathological processes. However, the diversity and dynamics of the female genital tract (FGT) microbiota have not been fully unveiled. In this study, we characterized the microbiome variations in reproductive-aged Chinese women, and we revealed that the cervicovaginal microbiota were dominated by .

Thus, we demonstrated m6A demethylase FTO downregulation and the ensuing increased m6A in granulosa cells (GCs) of human aged ovaries, while FTO-knockdown GCs showed faster aging-related phenotypes mediated. Using the m6A-RNA-sequence technique (m6A-seq), increased m6A was found in the FOS-mRNA-3'UTR, which is suggested to be an erasing target of FTO that slows the degradation of FOS-mRNA to upregulate FOS expression in GCs, eventually resulting in GC-mediated ovarian aging.

Opioid misuse is a significant public health issue and a national epidemic with a high prevalence of associated morbidity and mortality. The epidemic is particularly severe in Ohio which has some of the highest overdose rates in the country. It is important to understand spatial and temporal trends of the opioid epidemic to learn more about areas that are most affected and to inform potential community interventions and resource allocation.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLong noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are a group of noncoding RNAs whose nucleotides are longer than 200 bp. Previous studies have shown that they play an important regulatory role in many developmental processes and biological pathways. However, the contributions of lncRNAs to placental development are largely unknown.

Inadequate trophoblast cell invasion results in pregnancy-related disorders, which endanger both mother and fetus; however, the mechanism of early placental development has not been fully explained. In this study we conducted gene expression profile analysis using mouse placental tissues at different developmental stages (embryonic day (E)7.

The biological mechanisms of GD are unclear. While common genetic variants are associated with GD, positive findings have not always been replicated.
