Methamphetamine (METH) use disorder (MUD) is characterized by compulsive drug-seeking behavior and substantial neurotoxicity, posing a considerable burden on individuals and society. Traditionally perceived as a localized central nervous system disorder, recent preclinical and clinical studies have elucidated that MUD is a multifaceted disorder influenced by various biological systems, particularly the immune system. The selective Au deposition at the Au-substrate interface is known to give ultrathin Au nanowires and the synthesis usually employs strong thiol-based ligands. It is shown that, by increasing the rate of Au deposition, weak cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) can be made to behave like a strong ligand, so that it induces Active Surface Growth and gives Au nanowires. The ligand strength also depends on the packing interactions in the ligand layer, in the order of CTAB, CTAB, and CTAB.

Terahertz (THz) radiation is widely recognized as a non-destructive, label-free, and highly- sensitive tool for biomedical detections. Nevertheless, its application in precision biomedical fields faces challenges due to poor spatial resolution caused by intrinsically long wavelength characteristics. THz scanning near-field optical microscopy (THz-SNOM), which surpasses the Rayleigh criterion, offers micrometer and nanometer-scale spatial resolution, making it possible to perform precise bioinspection with THz imaging.

To investigate the mechanism of pancreatic alveolar cell autophagy in rats with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) by phillygenin (PHI) based on the PI3K/Akt/mToR pathway. Rats were randomly divided into control group (CON group), SAP model group (SAP group) and PHI treatment group (SAP+PHI group), with 10 rats in each group. 5% sodium taurocholate was injected retrogradely into the biliopancreatic duct to establish a SAP rat model, and PHI was injected intraperitoneally into the pancreas after successful establishment of the model.

Stimulator of interferon genes (STING) is an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) protein that plays a crucial role in cytosolic DNA-mediated innate immunity. Both STING agonists and antagonists have demonstrated their ability to enhance mouse survival against coronavirus, however, the physiological role of endogenous STING in coronavirus infection remains unclear. Our research unveils that STING inhibits coronavirus replication by impeding the formation of the ER-derived double-membrane vesicles (DMVs), the organelles in which coronavirus replicates.

The appearance of disordered lithium dendrites and fragile solid electrolyte interfaces (SEI) significantly hinder the serviceability of lithium metal batteries. Herein, guided by theoretical predictions, a multi-component covalent triazine framework with partially electronegative channels (4C-TATF-CTF) is incorporated as a protective layer to modulate the interface stability of the lithium metal batteries. Notably, the 4C-TATF-CTF with optimized electronic structure at the molecular level by fine-tuning the local acceptor-donor functionalities not only enhances the intermolecular interaction thereby providing larger dipole moment and improved crystallinity and mechanical stress, but also facilitates the beneficial effect of lithiophilic sites (C-F bonds, triazine cores, C=N linkages and aromatic rings) to further regulate the migration of Li and achieve a uniform lithium deposition behavior as determined by various in-depth in/ex situ characterizations.

Shearing-induced nucleation is known in our daily lives, yet rarely discussed in nano-synthesis. Here, we demonstrate an unambiguous shearing-induced growth of Au nanowires. While in static solution Au would predominately deposit on pre-synthesized triangular nanoplates to form nano-bowls, the introduction of stirring or shaking gives rise to nanowires, where an initial nucleation could be inferred.
