Comparative study of the risk prediction model of early postoperative frailty in elderly enterostomy patients based on machine learning methods.

Objective: Based on machine learning method, four types of early postoperative frailty risk prediction model of enterostomy patients were constructed to compare the performance of each model and provide the basis for preventing early postoperative frailty of elderly patients with enterostomy.

Methods: The prospective convenience sampling method was conducted and 362 early postoperative enterostomy patients were selected in three hospitals from July 2020 to November 2023 in Shanghai, four different prediction models of Support Vector Machine (SVM), Bayes, XG Boost, and Logistic regression were used and compared the test effects of the four models (MCC, F1, AUC, and Brier index) to judge the classification performance of the four models in the data of this study.

Results: A total of 21 variables were included in this study, and the predictors mainly covered demographic information, stoma-related information, quality of life, anxiety and depression, and frailty.

Comparison of long-term bowel symptoms after laparoscopic radical hysterectomy versus abdominal radical hysterectomy in patients with cervical cancer.

Introduction And Hypothesis: The objective of this study was to compare the long-term bowel symptoms between laparoscopic radical hysterectomy (LRH) and abdominal radical hysterectomy (ARH) in patients with cervical cancer.

Methods: A total of 207 patients who underwent radical hysterectomy (79 underwent LRH and 128 underwent ARH) at Peking University First Hospital from January 2010 to August 2020 were enrolled and their bowel symptoms were investigated using the Colorectal Anal Distress Inventory-8 (CRADI-8) of the Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory-20. The prevalence and severity of bowel symptoms were compared in the LRH and ARH groups, and multivariate analysis was performed to determine the factors associated with bowel symptoms.

Assessment of long-term sexual function of cervical cancer survivors after treatment: A cross-sectional study.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the long-term sexual function of patients with cervical cancer who underwent treatment and to explore influential factors.

Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted at Peking University First Hospital in (Beijing, China). A total of 207 patients, who were diagnosed with Stage IA-IIA cervical cancer and had undergone surgical treatment (some patients had also been treated with adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy) between January 2010 and August 2020, completed questionnaires via telephone.

Effect of ERAS Combined with Comfortable Nursing on Quality of Life and Complications in Femoral Neck Fractures of the Aged People.

Objective: To explore the effect of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) combined with comfortable nursing on the quality of life and complications of elderly patients with femoral neck fracture (FNF).

Methods: From May 2019 to May 2020, 80 senile FNF patients who admitted to our hospital were treated by total hip arthroplasty (THA). All patients were randomly divided upon admission into a control group (CG) with usual care and a study group (RG) with ERAS combined with comfort care of 40 patients each.

Predictors of posttraumatic growth of the family members of neurosurgical intensive care unit patients: A cross-sectional study.

Objectives: Confronted with the potentially traumatic experience of a patients intensive care unit hospitalisation, family members may show positive changes associated with growth in addition to negative impact. This study aimed to identify the level of posttraumatic growth of the family members of neurosurgical intensive care unit patients and to explore its relation to positive personality characteristics, such as gratitude, resilience and hope.

Design And Setting: A cross-sectional study involving 340 family members of patients admitted to the neurosurgical intensive care unit at a general tertiary hospital in Shanghai, China.
