Mutations in the Rhodopsin (RHO) gene are the main cause of autosomal dominant retinitis pigmentosa (adRP), 84% of which are pathogenic gain-of-function point mutations. Treatment strategies for adRP typically involve silencing or ablating the pathogenic allele, while normal RHO protein replacement has no meaningful therapeutic benefit. Here, we present an adenine base editor (ABE)-mediated therapeutic approach for adRP caused by RHO point mutations in vivo.

Integrating electrochemical upcycling of polyethylene-terephthalate (PET) and the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is an energy-saving approach for electrolytic hydrogen (H) production, along with the coproduction of formate. This research proposes an innovative, intelligent hand-assisted diagnostic system aiming to achieve a comprehensive assessment of hand function through information fusion technology. Cadmium (Cd) and sulfamethoxazole (SMX) frequently coexist in farmlands, yet their synergistic toxicological impacts on terrestrial invertebrates remain unexplored. In this study, earthworms were exposed to artificial soils percolated with Cd (5 mg/kg), SMX (5 mg/kg) or combination of them for 7 days, followed by a 12-day elimination phase in uncontaminated soil.
